_Position Summary:_ Under the supervision of the Pharmacy Supervisor and the direction of the pharmacists, assists in the distributive function of the department by performing order entry, prescription preparation, compounding, narcotic control, inventory management, preparation and distribution of pharmaceuticals including IV admixture preparation. Performs the duties of technician in specialty areas as assigned.
_Education:_ Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
_Experience:_ Required: Six months or more as a hospital pharmacy technician with emphasis on sterile product preparation, computer order entry, review of medication profiles, and direct interaction with nursing staff.
_License/Certification:_ Required: *Must maintain a current registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy. Must have completed in-house training and testing for Tech II level within 90 days of hire *Preferred: ACPE certification in sterile product preparation.
