The Opportunity
This position works out of our Austin, TX location in the Heart Failure Division. In Abbott’s Heart Failure (HF) business, we’re developing solutions to diagnose, monitor and manage heart failure, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.
Our team is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Demand Planner to lead the U.S. and CALA forecasting and S&OP/IBP process. This pivotal role involves close collaboration with finance, commercial, supply chain, and marketing teams to drive process improvements, product lifecycle planning strategies (including product launches and phase-outs), commercial strategy modeling, and the management of systems and metrics to measure performance.
What You’ll Work On
Lead the S&OP Process: Oversee the monthly IBP (Integrated Business Planning) process, including U.S. and CALA Demand Reviews and Regional meetings with U.S. and CALA Leadership. Manage commercial KPI performance, conduct root cause analysis, and develop solutions.
Collaborative Leadership: Partner with key stakeholders to build consensus around forecasts, commercial plans, and action plans to address challenges.
Demand Planning: Develop demand plans with commercial, marketing, and finance teams based on business trends, commercial and marketing strategies, and sales pipeline over a 24 mo horizon. Create models to forecast sales, field inventory changes, product phase-ins/phase-outs, and distressed inventory risks.
Execution and Management: Execute approved plans, manage abnormal demand, and review and report adherence to forecasts and launch plans.
Scenario Planning: Utilize scenario planning to assess risks and drive informed business decisions.
Forecast Reconciliation: Reconcile and explain differences between S&OP forecasts and LBE forecasts.
Change Leadership: Demonstrate effective change leadership and build strategic partnerships to advance departmental and organizational objectives.
Process Development: Develop, implement and continuously optimize processes, tools, and systems.
Presentation and Communication: Summarize complex data and changing assumptions into concise reports, messages, and recommendations for stakeholders, including senior leadership.
Problem Solving: Proactively solve problems, handle unstructured challenges, and lead teams to resolve identified issues.
IBP Program Implementation: Implement and optimize the new IBP (Integrated Business Planning) Commercial Management Review process for the U.S. Heart Failure division.
Travel for position up to 10%.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, Finance or a related field
5 years of experience in forecasting, S&OP/IBP processes, or a related field
Preferred Qualifications
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in excel modeling, planning systems and analytics tools.
Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
Advance knowledge of SAP APO or similar system for Demand Planning is required
Supply & Production Planning experience in APO including knowledge of SAP ECC and S/4 HANNA is considered as a plus.
Knowledge of Statistical forecasting models
Tableau, PowerBI or other visualization tool utilization experience.
Medical Device experience preferred

The base pay for this position is $75,300.00 – $150,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
