Northrop Grumman Director 2, Baltimore Manufacturing Engineering in Baltimore, Maryland
Northrop Grumman's Mission Systems (NGMS) Sector - based in Baltimore, Maryland - has an immediate need for a Director (D2) of Manufacturing Engineering. This position is a key sector manufacturing leadership role which has the prime responsibility for sector Manufacturing Engineering including early collaboration for development programs; product development and successful production, planning, and implementation of new engineering technologies and methodologies; as well as successful delivery of product for mature, production programs.
The Director of Manufacturing Engineering:
**is directly responsible for NGMS Baltimore site Manufacturing Engineering and related processes, machine integration, and sector manufacturing strategy.
**leads manufacturing technologies engineering for the sector, focusing on advanced manufacturing R&D and early collaboration with advanced concepts, engineering, and the divisions towards establishing and strengthening discriminating manufacturing technologies.
**is responsible for Manufacturing Engineering collaboration at all NGMS sites as well as collaboration with the engineering, quality and mission excellence, and global supply chain organizations.
**is directly responsible for the performance of the Baltimore Manufacturing Engineering organization.
**has direct responsibility for financial and performance management of manufacturing continuous improvement projects and strategic advanced manufacturing R&D, along with a direct team of 150 employees including managers and technical employees.
The Director must possess strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and effective problem solving capabilities. The Director will be responsible for recruiting and mentoring future leaders, directing training and skill development initiatives, and promoting Engagement & Inclusion activities.
**BS Degree or higher in a STEM area (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math). Engineering is preferred.
**A minimum of 12 years of progressive responsibility in leading people including large production/manufacturing organizations and processes
**Previous manufacturing, or related engineering leadership experience is required as well as experience leading large projects towards successful implementation and stabilization.
**Ability to obtain and maintain an Active Secret Security Clearance and higher clearance levels. US Citizenship is required.
**MS Degree in an Engineering or STEM related field
**Advanced degrees and/or certifications such as an MBA, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, etc.
**Experience with direct manufacturing management or cell management or program management
