The leader of Middle Office (MO) Control will be responsible for the overall control standards across the Middle Office and Investment Liaison (IL) Teams, along with regular oversight of key deliverables from outsource providers. This leader will partner across the MO Lead team to identify risks and ensure plans to mitigate those risks are clear and prioritized through both technology enhancements and process improvements. The Middle Office Control director is responsible for identifying Key Risk Indicators and be a key partner in measuring and prioritizing improvement needs with our outsourced MO providers.
This role will be a direct report of the Global Head of Middle Office which is part of the Global Investment Operations division within the COO division. The MO and IL teams are made up of four sub teams in the US.
Investment Liaisons work directly supporting the Portfolio Managers and Investment staff on investment decisions, reporting and client presentations.
Post Trade Services focuses on trade support, corporate actions, private placements, security setups, reconciliations, cash movement and oversight of those services that have been outsourced.
Derivatives Strategic Operations team focuses on driving the growth of T Rowe’s derivative capabilities and controls.
Middle Office Solutions Group is leading large strategic initiatives for the MO, including systems conversions.
Influences control standards across the management team through leadership, strong communication, and intellectual curiosity to drive accuracy and timeliness
Accountable for the control standards for Middle Office and Investment Liaison Teams
Identifies, develops, drives, and implements strategy for risk measurement, risk reduction, and process improvements using prior experiences and industry best practices
Understand Middle Office services that have been outsourced and scrutinize and drive improvements in the oversight of those services
Resolve complex operating and account issues among multiple internal groups or external parties
Collaborate and enable new product and client capabilities in a controlled manner
Partners with cross-functional teams to produce seamless upstream and downstream processes and results
Uses advanced communication skills to identify and resolve the most complex situations and ensure acceptable solutions are reached collaboratively
Evaluates, selects, and maintains key relationships with third-party providers of services with significant value/impact
Measures and holds third-party providers accountable for quality and performance standards within established service-level agreements.
Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience AND
12+ years of total relevant work experience and 5+ years of managing a Middle Office team or in a senior control role
Strategic thinker & problem-solver with proven ability to understand details & actively participate in execution to ensure success.
Proven ability to approach strategic execution with commercial decision-making
Excellent negotiation skills & ability to influence
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role .
