Northrop Grumman Principal/Senior Principal Manufacturing Automation Engineer in Baltimore, Maryland

Northrop Grumman's Manufacturing Operations Engineering organization is seeking a Manufacturing Automation Engineer to identify, specify, design, implement and maintain industrial automation solutions for a wide range of manufacturing applications. Areas of focus include microelectronics, antenna assembly, test and surface mount technology.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

Develop statements of work for both internal and external suppliers of automation solutions by coordinating across internal organizations to clearly identify/distill requirements

Execute resulting capital projects

Develop and implement less complex automation solutions as they arise

This req may be filled as a Principal Manufacturing Engineer or a Senior Principal Manufacturing Engineer based on the qualifications below.

MANUMS

Basic Qualifications for a Principal:

Bachelor's of Science degree or higher in Engineering or related STEM area plus 5 years of relevant professional experience (3 years with an MS degree)

Experience implementing automation solutions in a manufacturing environment

Must have fluency in MS Office software applications

3D Solid Modeling experience using a CAD software

Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a prerequisite).

Basic Qualifications for a Senior Principal:

Bachelor's of Science degree or higher in Engineering or related STEM area plus 9 years of relevant professional experience (7 years with an MS degree)

Experience implementing automation solutions in a manufacturing environment

Must have fluency in MS Office software applications

3D Solid Modeling experience using a CAD software

Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a prerequisite).

Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to program 6 axis robot (Fanuc preferred)

Knowledge of PLC programming

Design for Automation experience

Virtual commissioning experience
