Northrop Grumman Senior Principal RF Test and Development Engineer -AMEC in Baltimore, Maryland

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Manufacturing Operations Test Engineering Team seeks a Senior Principal RF Test and Development Engineer to assume ownership of the successful delivery of our Advanced Microelectronics Cell (AMEC) products.

AMEC is the nerve center responsible for cutting edge fabrication and test of our diverse suite of Active Feeds, Integrated Microwave Assemblies (IMAs), and Transmit/Receive Modules (TRMs) for a wide assortment of land, air, sea, and space-based programs.

We are seeking RF knowledgeable individuals who are passionate about monitoring and supporting product technical performance and aggressive about maintaining product delivery schedules. The Senior Principal RF Test and Development Engineer will work with our advanced microelectronic products, and will support the development, integration, and testing of production hardware. Activities will range from hands-on testing; to analysis of failure trends, root cause/ corrective actions; and attending program meetings to report yields, problems, and corrective actions.

The RF Test Engineer will:

Design, develop, and implement testing methods and equipment

Troubleshoot and support RF hardware

Support First Time Through Test Yield (FTTTY) and hardware deliveries

Analyze test data and identify early trends

Compile data and define changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements

Collaborate with design engineering to develop and implement hardware improvements and solutions

Support technicians through troubleshoot and training

Monitor product yields and aggressively work to maintain program yield targets

Support program meetings in developing root cause and corrective actions

Attend program meetings to report yield issues, yield detractor investigation finding, and corrective actions

Interface with manufacturing management, test technicians, production engineers, design engineers, system engineers, program management and program support teams

The right candidate will have analytical skills to review requirements, test plans, and test scenarios; and the ability to effectively communicate across teams. He/she should also be self-directed, organized, team oriented and have previous experience with MS Office tools.

The ability to obtain a DoD Secret level security clearance is required for this job. An Interim Secret clearance is required to start the job; if you do not currently have a clearance, a contingent offer may be made so you can start the job once you have an Interim Secret clearance. We would sponsor you for this clearance.

Basic Qualifications:

BS degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or other STEM Field

9 years of related experience (7 years with a STEM MS degree)

Experience with RF test equipment (scopes, power meter, spectrum analyzer, signal generator

Familiarity with basic concepts of RF circuit design and troubleshooting

Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret level security clearance. An Interim Secret clearance is required to start this job.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of RF theory and concepts

Circuit card assembly (CCA) level test experience

Experience with automated testing is desired, but not required.

Active US Secret Level security clearance
