Job Description

Grace is seeking a Training Specialist to join our Training Department in Curtis Bay, MD. The Training Specialist will p rovide on-floor training support for newly onboarded/developing manufacturing technicians. Develop and maintain employee curriculum and learning plan as per job function or task, including on the job trainings (OJTs) for manufacturing areas. Manage the learning management system to ensure accuracy and compliance of employee learning requirements. Ensure consistent compliance with external and internal Grace policies/procedures impacting training efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-floor training support for new/developing manufacturing technicians.

  • Support and assist Management to develop and maintain training programs, schedules, certifications, recertifications, qualifications and audit activities.

  • Provide performance oversight to meet training and certification initiatives, goals, and commitments.

  • Revise and update training certifications per area as required. Provide on-the-job practice and training, as required.

  • Develop, schedule, and maintain core training requirements by process and roles. Serve as a trainer in applicable certifications.

  • Update learning management system creating employee profile, course, and curriculum requirements as per job responsibilities.

  • Manage learning management system reports to support department needs. Perform data entry process to ensure accuracy of training record. Perform and report training compliance metrics.

  • Support new hire training logistics to ensure an effective on boarding process. Manage training logistics to support personnel knowledge capability. Support manufacturing areas to evaluate training requirements. Support employee skills evaluation.

  • Assure training plans are aligned and updated according to effective Job Descriptions.

  • Assists operations in accordance with Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security (EHSS) systems and promote continuous improvement. Comply with all EHSS procedures and policies including incident reporting, use of PPE, waste management and disposal, and any other program applicable according to the position duties.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements and Environment

  • Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator

  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft.

  • Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings.

Required Qualifications

  • An associate degree in business administration, HR Development or Training; or a nationally recognized training certification; or three (3) years’ experience as a training facilitator, training coordinator, or any other similar role, with a focus on learner engagement.

  • 5 years of experience working in a manufacturing industry

  • Advanced organization skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments, industry knowledge, and the ability to multi-task.

  • Sound knowledge of traditional and modern training techniques

  • Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Learning Management Systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience in training related area is preferred.
