Job Summary:

As a Technical Program Manager at Caterpillar, you will be responsible for creating Functional & Detailed Technical Requirements for TechAdvisor.CAT.com – a digital application that enables Dealers to improve Sales, Service & Support experience on Digital Technology Applications for CI & RI Domain.

You will work with Commercial, Service & Support Teams & Digital Application owners of CI and RI Domains to sensitize a Common User experience to Configure/ Integrate/ Support the right Technology Option. You will understand the requirements prioritized by the Dealer Community to develop Proof of Concepts of various Features & vet it with Dealers to gain interest and further prioritize those Features for Future releases. You will drive Technical Marketing strategies to promote TechAdvisor.CAT.com to our Dealers.

In addition, you will create business/ commercial proposals on developing ideas/ concepts to improve our Digital offering to our Construction Customers & drive its execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex technical programs, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and objectives.

  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with stakeholders, including product managers, engineers, and senior management, to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.

  • Technical Oversight: Provide technical guidance and direction to project teams, ensuring technical solutions align with business needs and architectural standards.

  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.

  • Resource Management: Allocate resources effectively, balancing workload and priorities to ensure optimal productivity and project delivery.

  • Performance Tracking: Monitor project progress, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and report status to stakeholders and senior management.

  • Process Improvement: Implement and refine project management processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and delivery timelines.

  • Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication channels with all project stakeholders, providing regular updates and addressing any issues promptly.

  • Budget Management: Manage project budgets, ensuring projects are delivered within financial constraints.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Agile, Scrum) preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a technical program management role, preferably within a manufacturing or engineering environment.

  • Skills:

  • Strong leadership and team-building capabilities.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Proficient in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with manufacturing processes, product development, and quality management systems.
