Kellanova Engineering Technical Center of Excellence Senior Manager in Battle Creek, Michigan

The Engineering Technical Center of Excellence Senior Manager role will lead a category for the Technical Center of Excellence deployment and the regional Capital Management Element Lead supporting regional engineering and plant functions. As the liaison between finance and engineering, this position serves multiple purposes in supporting capital management and planning efforts within the region. The Technical Center and Capital Management Lead ensures adherence to financial policies, budget cycles, and effective coordination between engineering and finance for tracking and reporting. This position can be based on Chicago, Illinois, Grand Rapids, MI, Jackson, TN or Battle creek, MI and will work a hybrid schedule with in-office attendance on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

In this role you will collaborate closely with Technical Center global, regional, and category leads, site local leads, as well as category business partners, execution leads, project managers, finance controllers, and finance leads.

A Taste of What You’ll Be Doing

  • Kellanova Work System (KWS) Deployment Capability Building : Establish phase 1 and 2 capability building programs to upskill plant technical center leads and Engineering and Facilities/technical managers on technical center expectations. Develop and manage a Skills matrix for plant-level technical center leads and Engineering and Facilities/technical managers regionally.

  • KWS Governance: Monitor progress of technical center ‘elements’ in both phase 1 and 2, as well as E&F/technical managers’ phase progression for each plant within the region. Ensure key performance metrics are published across the region and combined in global analysis.

  • Capital Management Oversight: Lead the COP (Community of Practice) with members from engineering, finance, plant, and external partners. Act as the region’s Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the CIP (Capital Investment Planning) process, maintaining visibility at 0% past due across FAM (Financial Asset Management), engineering, and procurement. Act as the regional SME for Cost Estimating.

    We’re Looking for Someone With

  • 6+ years experience in either Finance, Capital Management polices and/or Engineering Work Processes (PMI). Has the capacity to become the SME in both areas

  • Strong budget management & consolidation skills

  • SAP reporting and management experience

  • Strong communication skills – written, oral and via presentations
