Director, Cyber Regulatory Response

What does a successful Director, Cyber Regulatory Response do at Fiserv?

Our Cyber Security Communications and Oversight team has many functions, one of which is the management of all external audit activities for the cyber security organization. As a large service provider to financial institutions, Fiserv undergoes continuous monitoring and supervision by the Federal Banking Agencies and various state regulatory bodies. As a member of our team, you will be the face of the Global Cyber Security Services organization and the Cyber Security Program to regulatory examiners. You will collaborate with the Fiserv Exam Management team and IT Risk team regularly to receive, review and ensure that examiner requests interpreted, assigned and distributed appropriately. For those requests assigned to GCSS, you will draft and/or collect from cyber security SMEs, revise and finalize written responses with our senior leaders.

In addition to supporting the regular supervisory and examination activities, you will advise technology SMEs, management and business partners on potential impacts to compliance to ensure broader regulatory compliance requirements are considered with cyber security requirements and program activities. Proactively identify potential compliance deviations, work with the owner within cyber security to identify short and long-term remediation plans that effectively address root causes, as well as identify any compensating controls. Additional duties may include supporting responding to requests from international regulators, assisting the team with other external audits or assessments and providing consultative type support to other organization in the development of their responses.

What you will do:

  • Understand, communicate and commit to the organization’s vision, goals and strategies for cyber security and their relationship to federal and state regulatory compliance.

  • Analyze complex issues, apply appropriate analysis and monitoring, and use sound judgement to make strategic and operational recommendations to promote regulatory compliance goals.

  • Establish and maintain a monitoring program for federal and state regulatory compliance performance using key indicators.

  • Foster and champion, an environment that promotes compliance, continuous improvement, appropriate and effective controls, quality outcomes, self-detection and remediation.

  • Build relationships across the organization, while leveraging individual and cultural diversity to assist in achieving goals and objectives.

  • Align compliance and legal requirements with the cyber security strategic focus and work with cyber security leaders make adjustments when necessary.

  • Monitor implementation of new and revised controls, procedures, and processes for compliance

What you will need to have:

  • 5-7 years’ experience in financial/banking federal and state regulations related to financial services/service providers.

  • Strong technical background

  • Ability to translate technical language to language easily understand by non-technical audiences.

  • Strong Risk Management and Program Management background

  • Strong analytical/negotiation/Communication skills

  • Experience interpreting and implementing compliance rules and mandates.

  • Proven problem-solving skills from problem assessment to solution selection.

  • Ability to identify alternatives and make contingency plans

  • Capacity to embrace change and quickly adapt to new situations, changes in direction, and altering priorities.

  • Must work with little supervision, be detailed orientated and have the ability to make independent judgment for priority and completion of each task
