*This is a hybrid, 3 days onsite role in Berkeley Heights, NJ.

What does a great Site Reliability Engineer do for Fiserv?
This SRE/DevOps Advisor will have the opportunity to work in an exciting technical environment, on a team focused on creating and maintaining highly available and fault tolerant enterprise infrastructure, with one of the most exciting companies within the financial services space.
Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) applies software engineering techniques and discipline to production operations to attack major problems and fix them for good. Our customers count on us to provide extraordinary availability, scalability, and security for our services. SRE should be comfortable with taking on new engineering challenges, defining potential solutions, and implementing designs in a team environment. This position will play an important role in our organization’s evolution towards contemporary application and infrastructure management practices and will be expected to both guide and support the team’s growth and learning.
What you will do:
Provide technology leadership in a tightly integrated fintech eco-systems, which incorporates integrations from mainframe to Unix and windows web / application servers, and Database Servers.
Active participation in Agile (Scrum) deployment team activities
Partnering with business and technical SMEs to understand relevant data, analyze and perform necessary deep dive to solve given business problem, summarize and present key findings
Learning and mastering the debit card processing business domain and our systems
Lead/Participate in all Production Support activities during incidents and outages.
Continuously improve our infrastructure to be easy to deploy, scalable, secure and fault tolerant.
Participate in capacity planning, tuning systems stability, provisioning, performance, and scaling of the application infrastructure.
The desire to resolve issues for a 24x7 environment in a non-impacting yet fast-paced resolve time.
What you need to have:
10 years overall experience and 7+ years of Linux Administration experience
VMware experience
Experience with build tools (Maven / Gradle)
Working knowledge of Jenkins pipelining
Experience with enterprise monitoring tools
Ability to work off hours as needed (usually 1-2 hours at a time).
What would be great to have:
PostgreSQL experience
Experience managing an environment with databases
Puppet and Ansible experience (or other IaC/Configuration Management tools)
