The FLEX Director, Rooms and Guest Experience Innovation - Program Readiness and Fulfillment, is a key member of the Global Operations (GO) department. The position supports the planning and delivery of Rooms and Guest Experience Programs and Innovations. The FLEX Director will support the deployment of the 2025 Lock Security and Stabilization Package (Lock Package), a critical component of our Digital and Technology Transformation (DTT) initiatives. This role requires technical and operational expertise to guide decision-making and problem-solving. This role will develop and implement a sustainable process for ongoing annual lock system software updates post-2025. Beyond the Lock Package responsibilities, this role will enhance Global Operations and program expertise, creating structures and capabilities to support agile operational innovation across the enterprise. This role involves partnering with leaders in hotel operations which involves collaborating with deployment leaders to manage program deadlines, vendor and continent escalations, and stakeholder engagement. This role will ensure there is internal and external coordination to identify and resolve roadblocks while maintaining timeline commitments.

Position is based in Bethesda, MD.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

Required

  • 8+ years of hotel experience or other relevant experiences using property management and other hotel systems.

  • Experience with operations and technology initiatives; in addition to experience with processes needed to support delivery and ongoing support

Preferred

  • Strong oral and written communication skills (incl confident ability to present to large and executive level audiences); excellent interpersonal and leadership skills; able to collaborate effectively with others in a cross-functional team and solid ability to manage multiple stakeholders

  • Demonstrated experience in working with and influencing cross-functional work teams in a matrix organization

  • Strong analytical skills to ground decision making with ability to problem-solve and leverage resources to optimize department capabilities

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

  • Support the GO Team on global fulfillment efforts, foremost around the Global Lock Security and Stabilization Package (Lock Package) but also related to On Property Guest Experience Product Releases and D&TT efforts. As part of the effort around the Lock Package this leader will

  • Build effective relationships with all internal and external stakeholders to drive program progress to meet agreed on milestones and deadlines.

  • Ensure decision-making that balances the needs of the various stakeholder groups and promotes the long-term viability of the business

  • Act as a project leader and day-to-day project decision maker with the following responsibilities:

  • Accountable for delivering the results of the project

  • Provide content guidance to the project

  • Participate in review cycles at key milestones & provide go/no-go decision

  • Actively participate in strategy sessions

  • Contribute to and in some cases lead strategy development

  • Ensure appropriate sponsorship and resourcing

  • Establish key milestones and approval roles

  • Ensure timely delivery against milestones Identify emerging business opportunities and risks to determine strategic implications, provide feedback to key stakeholders and take a leadership role in the decision-making process. Coordinate contributions into central program deliverables, e.g. Integrated Project Plans, Risk Management and Contingency Plans, etc.

  • The Director will also support the VP Rooms and Guest Experience Innovation and members of the Rooms and Guest Experience Innovation team with agile innovation workstreams in Global Operations or across other stakeholder groups including Commerce, Cx, Brand, Loyalty, Digital and others as needed. This also includes GO specific as well as other enterprise-wide innovation and collaboration forums.

  • As part of the innovation activities, collaborate with cross-functional working teams comprised of senior discipline experts from Hotel Operations, Commerce, Digital Enterprise Products (IT), Loyalty, Customer Experience, Finance, and other departments within Consumer and Global Operations as well as continent teams when appropriate

The pay range for this position is $60.38 to $84.23 per hour.
