JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a Senior Director of Engineering & Architecture to lead the global development and deployment of integrated software solutions for hotel in-room entertainment technology. This role is responsible for defining the technical vision, building and leading a high-performing global software engineering team, and delivering scalable, market-specific solutions that integrate seamlessly with existing or new in-room hardware (e.g., smart TVs, set-top boxes, in-room automation systems and more).

As a key technology leader, you will oversee software architecture, cloud-based content delivery, and API-driven integrations while ensuring compliance with regional requirements and guest experience expectations. You will collaborate with hardware manufacturers, content providers, hospitality operators, and technology partners to create an end-to-end in-room entertainment ecosystem that is flexible, scalable, and globally consistent.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience Required

• 15+ years of experience in software engineering, architecture, and technology leadership, with a focus on media streaming, cloud platforms, and system integration.

• Proven track record of leading large-scale, globally deployed entertainment or hospitality technology platforms.

• Deep expertise in cloud computing (AWS, Azure, or GCP), microservices, APIs, and content delivery networks (CDNs).

• Strong understanding of IoT integrations, hotel technology ecosystems, and digital entertainment experiences.

• Experience ensuring compliance with global content regulations, DRM standards, and data privacy laws.

• Exceptional leadership skills with experience in building and scaling global software teams.

Education and Experience Preferred

• Experience in hospitality technology, travel tech, or large-scale streaming platforms.

• Strong understanding of network optimization, low-latency streaming, and cloud-based video delivery.

• Knowledge of AI-driven personalization, voice interfaces, and next-gen interactive entertainment experiences.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Global Technology Strategy & Leadership

• Define and execute a global software strategy for in-room entertainment, ensuring seamless integration with in-room hardware such as smart TVs, set-top boxes, and IoT-enabled devices.

• Lead the end-to-end software architecture, engineering, and deployment of solutions that power streaming services, interactive entertainment, personalized content recommendations, and smart room integrations.

• Drive the development of cloud-native platforms, microservices, and API-driven architectures that enable interoperability with hotel property management systems (PMS), guest mobile applications, and third-party content providers.

• Ensure regional compliance with telecommunications, content distribution, and data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, etc.)

• Leverage AI, machine learning, and automation to enhance the guest experience through personalized content recommendations, voice control, and intelligent room interactions.

Software Engineering & System Integration

• Oversee the integration of cloud-based streaming platforms, content delivery networks (CDNs), and digital rights management (DRM) solutions.

• Lead software teams in building APIs, middleware, and backend services that enable seamless interaction between in-room hardware, cloud-based entertainment services, and guest applications.

• Ensure scalability, high availability, and security of all software solutions across global hotel deployments.

• Optimize software architectures for low-latency, high-performance streaming and real-time content synchronization across different network conditions.

• Implement data-driven guest insights to enhance content recommendations and interactive in-room experiences.

Team Building & Leadership

• Recruit, develop, and lead a global team of software engineers, architects, and technical program managers.

• Foster a culture of innovation, technical excellence, and collaboration across distributed teams.

• Partner with hardware vendors, content providers, and hotels to ensure seamless integration of software solutions with in-room devices.

• Work closely with UX/UI designers, product teams, and hotel operations to deliver intuitive, guest-friendly entertainment experiences.

• Establish and enforce best practices for software development, DevOps, security, and cloud infrastructure management.

Localization & Market-Specific Deployment

• Ensure software solutions comply with regional streaming regulations, data privacy laws, and telecom standards.

• Adapt content delivery strategies based on regional bandwidth limitations, connectivity challenges, and infrastructure differences.

• Enable localized guest experiences through multi-language content, adaptive UI/UX, and regional content partnerships.

• Work with regional IT teams to optimize integrations with local network providers and telecom infrastructure.

Operational & Financial Oversight

• Define and manage the engineering budget to ensure cost-effective, scalable, and sustainable software solutions.

• Establish KPIs to track system performance, system health, uptime, guest engagement, and overall satisfaction with in-room entertainment services.

The salary range for this position is $141,700 to $220,500 annually. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible to receive an annual bonus and restricted stock units/stock grants.

Washington Applicants Only: Employees will accrue 0.04616 PTO balance for every hour worked and eligible to receive minimum of 7 holidays annually.
