Reimagine What’s Possible Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases, has an immediate opening for a Supply Chain Coordinator on the Supply Chain team to support the Rotoflow Business at our office in the Bethlehem location.

Nature and Scope This position develops and implements procurement strategies to support and ensure alignment with manufacturing strategy and goals, while simultaneously challenging commercial and operating practices, and business processes with a focus on driving efficient solutions. Strong planning, project and time management, cost control, sourcing, communication, and negotiating skills are required.
You will develop an intimate knowledge of the supply markets' competitiveness drivers, key suppliers, capabilities, and marketplace dynamics. You will be encouraged to support procurement practices with a focus on driving lead-time and cost-reduction initiatives.
You will also be responsible for handling all aspects of pricing support, identification of capable suppliers, live interaction with suppliers for technical questions and clarifications, management of RFQ lifecycle and recommendation for award. You will need to communicate supplier award and rejection and be capable of maintaining positive relationships throughout. You will also interface at management levels within the suppliers’ organizations to represent Air Products’ interests.
Responsibility for this role also extends to budget management for all allocated project activities using SAP as well as maintenance of any Project performance. You will also take the lead with respect to allocated projects for maintenance; drive the safety culture during installs the need arises to meet the business requirements. They must also ensure that all activities are undertaken in compliance to both Air Products standards and those national statutes that apply as well as alignment to quality and service standards required by the business. Critical Competencies
Familiarity with the turbomachinery/rotating machinery industry and ability to learn key aspects of the industry.
Sources components or services and ensures timely preparations and communication of RFQ (Request for Quotes) and Purchase Order placement.
Experience with commodities/services such as machined parts (shrouds, plates, rings, seals, vanes, etc.), lube oil systems, bearings, gearboxes, foils, impellers, tooling, shafts/rotos, actuators (and assembly parts), couplings, instrumentation, castings/patterns, forgings, fabricated parts, Class C items, etc. is helpful.
Excellent commercial awareness Facilitate inspections, substitutions, and standardization by arranging and participating in conference calls between suppliers and company personnel.
Work with Engineering and Design team to understand technical requirements needed for procured parts and works with suppliers to ensure these requirements are met.
Works with Proposals and Operations team in reviewing forecast and operation plans to ensure purchase of goods and services are planned to meet demand.
Self-disciplined and self-motivated with a confirmed ability to work optimally with minimal direction.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher, in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Business Management or equivalent job experience
3+ years’ experience in Procurement, Technical, Engineering, Commercial or Project environment Knowledge of commercial logistical and purchasing procedures and practice, including industry standard methodologies
Experience in discrete manufacturing, logistics, and turbomachinery Education in technical or business field
Proven track record in leading successful ground-breaking metrics-based projects
Familiarity with SAP is strongly preferred
