The Opportunity

As a member of our commercial development organization, the National Advanced Clinical EP Specialist is responsible for being a technical leader. They provide expert consulting, teaching, and support for electrophysiologists on the EnSite Mapping System and its appropriate application in the clinical setting. The N-ACES is a significant driver of business within their area and is a mentor to the clinical leaders. They are expected to provide consulting to customers on the complete EP product line. The N-ACES will be responsible for developing and analyzing internal, market, and competitive insights to help deliver on our US clinical support strategy. This person will provide direction and input to strategic marketing, commercial, and forecasting related activities that are used by senior management and corporate levels of the business. Success within this position will be achieved through the ability to understand business needs and to develop and communicate strategic insights around these needs through clinical development.

Additionally, they provide collaboration with Area Vice Presidents and Regional Sales Directors to develop business at Strategic Accounts within each Area. They participate in the sales and marketing process and is responsible for ensuring all new accounts are established in accordance with Abbott’s EP Division’s educational and in-service specific objectives and that ongoing product utilization is encouraged when necessary or requested through in-lab support and consultation with the EP and other lab support personnel. They serve in a “Lead” capacity for other clinical employees in their area.

What You’ll Work On

  • Lead and develop the EP clinical in-person and remote strategy

  • Work with US EP commercial development team in order to align training with continued development of US clinical personnel.

  • Support clinical development at priority accounts.

  • Focus on disease specific solutions like AF and VT.

  • Exhibit the desire to provide situational solutions to both internal and external issues.

  • Create dashboards and reports using Excel and PowerBI .

  • Design and execute strategic forecasts and analyses to develop informed and insightful estimates that impact the business.

  • Lay out well-thought-out rationale for key assumptions and inputs.

  • Analyses based on understanding of available research and analytical techniques for both short-term needs and longer-term forecasts and assessments.

  • Exhibit strong communication, analytical, and forecasting abilities in breaking down issues and developing solutions.

  • Understand market and competitor dynamics to provide expertise on data interpretation for the marketing and commercial organizations.

  • Analyze categories and companies utilizing multiple information sources (primary and secondary data) to provide actionable business insights.

  • Develop executive-level presentations to communicate analyses and implications with executives across the organization.

  • Manage multiple stakeholder “customers” in fast-moving environment to respond to ad-hoc industry analyses in addition to ongoing reporting.

  • Exhibit strong organizational skills that are needed to manage vendors on, appropriateness of methodology, and actionability of conclusions.

  • Develop a network of internal and external contacts to obtain and disseminate the right information from and to the right people.

  • Distill complex issues into critical components to ensure clear and concise messages.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors’ degree.

  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience working in healthcare, life sciences, or technology-based products, specific to 3D Cardiac Mapping.

  • Experience working with complex product portfolios in the medical device industry. Experience with strategic product planning and commercial execution. Developed leadership skills/experience, including the ability to map task interdependencies, prioritize such tasks, and develop, monitor, and live within budgets as well as the demonstrated ability to forecast major milestones.

  • Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred. Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.

  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment. Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.

  • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization. Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.

  • Understanding of both the technology and capabilities of the Division’s products, market and customer dynamics, and functional operations across departments.

  • Additionally, the successful candidate will exhibit: Positive attitude, leadership, desire and ability to lead the organization to ensure goals achievement, deep understanding of the complexities of market and customer needs, ability to develop, rationalize, and present strategy, strong analytical and computer skills, with working knowledge of training models, strong work ethic, self-motivation, and resourcefulness.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Marketing experience and/or complex market modeling experience

  • Training Experience: mentorship of professional training roles

  • Sales Experience: accountable for the direct sales of capital and disposables in a territory

  • IBHRE CEPS

  • MBA a plus.

The base pay for this position is $95,000.00 – $190,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
