Role Definition
Supports manufacturing processes by performing many technical tasks while ensuring compliance with the prevailing safety and quality procedures and policies.
Responsibilities:
Coaches and knowledge shares with employees on SOP's and safety procedures.
Identifying issues related to manufacturing processes and implementing process improvements.
Utilize NX CAD/CAM software to create process plans and NC programs for turbine engine and gas compressor components.
Create routing and BOM’s in MRP system (Infor BAAN)
Develop and document manufacturing processes
Work with shop floor to improve programs and processes
Work with Design Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Operations to implement new products and processes
Design work holding for machining centers and lathes using NX CAD/CAM Software
Work with QA department to develop inspection plans for new parts
Facilitate disposition of non-conforming parts

• Identifies common changes to manufacturing equipment, technologies and systems.
• Describes the process for introducing any change to a production environment.
• Describes the associated communication requirements, activities and authorization levels.
Lean Manufacturing: Knowledge of the philosophy, principles and implementation approaches of lean manufacturing; ability to integrate and implement lean manufacturing philosophy into existing production and management processes.
Level Basic Understanding:
• Cites examples of benefits and risks associated with implementing lean principles.
• Describes basic tools for observing existing processes and identifying waste.
• Cites industry or company examples of successful and unsuccessful lean implementations.
• Identifies key lean principles and highlights of the lean manufacturing process.
Manufacturing Processes: Knowledge of existing product manufacturing methods, technologies and processes; ability to execute, plan, manage and monitor the entire manufacturing process.

• Describes functional areas in a manufacturing facility.
• Describes the roles and responsibilities of manufacturing areas and staff.

Siemens NX
Autocad
MS office
Infor MRP (BAAN)
Minimum Requirements:
Solid modeling experience (NX preferred)
NC programming experience using CAD/CAM software (NX preferred)
Experience supporting Mill-Turn machines
Experience supporting model-based definition parts
Good project management skills
Ability to work hands on with shop floor
Ability to read/understand blueprints and GD&T
Demonstrate good problem solving, analytical thinking, and decision making
Experience designing fixtures with solid modeling CAD software (NX preferred)
Strong work ethic
Must possess good interpersonal skills to work with key stake holders.
Works well with team and individually
Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology or 5 plus years of experience.
Summary Pay Range:
$70,944.00 - $106,416.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
