Caterpillar is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Brooklyn Park, MN. In this role, you will collaborate with the team in maintaining and improving processes and systems in the manufacture of the products produced in the facility. Further, you will analyze and recommend current and future systems, procedures and equipment needs based on manufacturing requirements.
What you can look forward to in this role:
Perform technical analysis of manufacturing processes through a lens of continuous improvement.
Design and direct the acquisition of all necessary tooling and machines.
Troubleshoot day-to-day manufacturing process issues, develop solutions and monitor improvements.
Procure material related to manufacturing improvements through external suppliers.
Develop standard work for and deploy engineering change notices.
Develop and maintain standard work routings.
Respond to customer issues and lead process improvements.
A successful candidate in this role will showcase their skills in:
Lean Manufacturing: Knowledge of the philosophy, principles and implementation approaches of lean manufacturing; ability to integrate and implement lean manufacturing philosophy into existing production and management processes.
Manufacturing Equipment: Knowledge of the electrical, mechanical and logistics equipment used in manufacturing; ability to safely operate, maintain, update and store them.
Manufacturing Processes: Knowledge of existing product manufacturing methods, technologies and processes; ability to execute, plan, manage and monitor the entire manufacturing process.
Problem Management Process - MFG: Knowledge of manufacturing problem management processes, methodologies and techniques; ability to use a disciplined approach to bringing that problem to a successful resolution.
Top Candidates for this position may also have:
A thorough knowledge of manufacturing concepts demonstrated through prior experience working in a manufacturing environment
Good communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office
Experience with SAP & SAP ME
Extensive Caterpillar Manufacturing Experience & Experience with Paving Products
Ability to work and communicate with a diverse group of employees and customers
Experience with 3D modeling programs (NX or Creo)
A degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or related discipline

The primary location for this position is Brooklyn Park.

Summary Pay Range:
$79,800.00 - $119,760.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
