BAE Systems is hiring a Director III Finance to support our Space and Mission Systems (SMS) Sector Space Systems Business Unit. This role is a key role within the SMS Finance Leadership Team (FLT), reporting directly to the SMS Sector CFO and supporting the SVP GM of the Space Systems Business unit. The successful candidate for position will assume responsibility for all financial matters at the Space Systems Business Unit and have cognizance over the Cost Estimating and Pricing, FP&A, and Project Controls functions.
The Finance Strategic Capabilities Unit delivers the expertise and business acumen to increase value across the enterprise by providing actionable information with recommendations and opportunities to drive sustainable business growth.
What You ll Do:
Lead team of approximately 45 Space Systems finance staff, ensuring adequate development, training, and capabilities to support and deliver Space Systems Objectives.
Lead the Space Systems SLT in financially oriented business strategy, Return on Capital Employed (ROCE) based business case analysis, internal controls/compliance, and delivering on financial commitments.
Support the new business process including independent reviews and ICE analysis, Request for Bid Approval (RBA), and pricing strategy.
Provide financial leadership and review of Space Systems SOA, AWAR, Fireform, and Strategic inventory requests.
Develop, track, and communicate programmatic and BU level financial KPIs for Space Systems.
Track Space Systems budgets and ensure any supplemental requests are supported by a sound business case.
Coordinate and manage external audit (DCAA, Deloitte etc.) requests for Space Systems.
Provide strategic financial leadership of the annual 5-year Integrated Business Plan (IBP) for Space Systems.
Drive business acumen through training and engagement with non-financial leaders within Space Systems.
Ensure consistency in financial practices across Space Systems programs.
Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
Perform other duties as necessary.
On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working four days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor s Degree in business, or a related field, and 12 or more years of experience in Aerospace and Defense (A&D) or similar government contracting environment required.
Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience.Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) required.

A security clearance or access with Polygraph is not required to be eligible for this position. However, the applicant must be willing and eligible for submission, depending on program requirements, after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
MBA preferred.
CPA, CMA, CFA or other equivalent financial certificate/license preferred.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $196296 - $333704

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
