Job Summary:

Procter & Gamble is seeking an individual with strong project or initiative delivery in packing / packaging technologies to join our team at our Greensboro, North Carolina, Manufacturing Facility as an Operating Department Leader. You will be part of a unique organization that drives synergies and focus on delivering change with technical rigor and enabling operational success end-to-end. Here, you’ll play a key part in improving the capability, quality, and technical readiness of our systems to deliver changes in packing technology, packaging materials/products, and equipment in order to improvement business metrics.

As an Operating Department Leader, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Leading project teams and/or a small team of people for the planning, design, implementation, and qualification of changes in packing equipment, packaging materials / products, and/or new initiatives.

  • Leads the organization of the technologies under its responsibility to ensure quality results following P&G Systems, with the aim of eliminating losses and defects which prevent or disrupt line leaders from delivering their results.

  • Responsible for developing the training of the team according to the principles of Integrated Work Systems and aligned with our Principles Values and Principles.

  • Responsible for ensuring and sustaining the operational safety, product quality and records accuracy for the department.

  • Responsible for deploying and maintaining standards and owns the daily direction setting process and the Run to Target Process for operating department.

  • Working as part of a multi-functional technical team to bring innovation to life for new packaging and packing equipment technologies with focus on driving technical rigor and building people capability.

  • Enabling operational excellence at P&G with each change by integrating operational, equipment, and system improvements seamlessly into the changes being delivered.

  • Partnering with operations, engineering, material and equipment vendors, and research and development on packing equipment and packaging component design for manufacturability, delivering cost savings, optimizing packing line performance, and enabling supply chain agility.

  • Responsible for building the capability of the organization and for fostering a healthy team culture.

Job Qualifications

The Ideal Candidate, you have the passion to work a diverse team to deliver business results in a fast-paced environment with focus on operational excellence. You have a strong technical background in packaging. You can innovate as well as reapply proven solutions. You are able to juggle multiple priorities and are able to adapt to change.

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field or alternate Bachelor’s Degree with equivalent manufacturing / operations experience including the Armed Forces.

• Ability to be located in Greensboro, NC and willingness to travel occasionally (less than 10%).

• 5+ years work experience leading operational teams and manufacturing projects related to processing and/or packing technologies.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience with operations, packing equipment, and/or packaging materials.

• Demonstrated technical mastery, leadership, and collaboration skills, as well as the ability to lead a team to successfully deliver multiple priorities at a time.

• Experience with a regulated industry, such as Food, Cosmetic, or Drug for knowledge of GMP compliance is a plus.
