We are seeking an MES Engineer – IT Systems to join our team at our Yerkes Plant Site. The selected candidate will bring technical knowledge and develop experience to design, build, implement, enhance and maintain our MES solution that integrates production systems and processes with business systems to optimize manufacturing efficiency, quality and safety. Work as part of a team to implement and lead projects to maintain and improve system performance. Ensure changes are approved and documented according to established policies and procedures.

The individual will develop experience with Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Quality system disciplines. Experience with integrated computer systems, Microsoft Visual Studio.net, SQL Server stored procedures is required. The role requires working with area owners to understand and assess requirements, anticipate problems and develop solutions to ensure the manufacturing system meets these needs. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communications and team collaboration is required.

Your Key Responsibilities :

  • Use Microsoft Visual Studio, asp.net, VB.net and MS SQL Server to configure, build and deploy MES code

  • Plan, specify, design, build, test and document code to implement improvement design changes

  • Build custom web applications and tools using technologies like VB.net, C#, JavaScript, HTML.

  • Support, troubleshoot and develop code for operator interface and manufacturing execution system integration.

  • Schedule work according to a prioritized applications enhancement list.

  • Maintain a defect / enhancement list for application improvements

  • Work closely with site project leaders, operators, teammates in an industrial manufacturing environment

  • Provide web displays, database interface, and application interface development for real-time manufacturing applications, lab processes in an integrated Manufacturing Execution System.

  • Deliver updates to system documents such as user requirement specifications, configuration specifications, functional specifications, training shorts and test cases.

  • Support plant operations through on-call availability.

Your Qualification Profile:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Technology or a related technical field

  • 2+ years' experience with web application development is preferred

  • Excellent communications, both written and verbal are essential for success

  • Manufacturing and system integration experience is preferred.

  • Display an exceptional commitment to core values –safety, environment, health, respect for people

  • 1+ years of experience with coding for real-time instruments, process controllers, Microsoft Windows Server-based applications, Windows services, and Web Services, using RS232/USB (ASCII) and Ethernet (TCP/IP) communications.

  • Proficiency with MS Visual Studio.NET, VB.NET, MS SQL Server stored procedures, MS SS Report Services, Visual Basic.net/ C+, OPC Server-Client, JAVA, Windows Services, Rockwell RSLinx/Kepware. Aspentech IP21 familiarity is a plus.

  • Experience with GE Proficy™ Plant Applications or similar manufacturing execution software is preferred.

  • Proficient in developing and maintaining application pools for web displays /operator interface.

  • Experience with application interface of Manufacturing Execution Systems with lab and online instruments.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft computer and server operating systems, and application software.

  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Power Tools (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate) is a plus

  • Experience working with diverse project teams and customers.

  • Experience with developing functional specifications, planning, estimating, providing timelines, coding, testing, implementing and documenting system interfaces.

The Pay range for this role is $63,000.00 - $99,000.00 Annual
