Project Overview:

The M&T GBU (Manufacturing and Technology Global Business Unit) is headquartered in the U.S. with employees in various states, also has colleagues in the United Kingdom, India, and other locations. Our Architecture team is primarily located in Chandler, AZ; but Houston, TX; and Reston, VA are our other major office locations. We are looking for talented people to join our team for an exciting new prospect located in the Upper Midwest.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will plan, develop, design, coordinate, and review architectural work on large projects with unique requirements. You will prepare discipline estimates and work plans, review and approve design documents, interpret regulations, and assist with performance reporting. Your recommendations for resolving complex issues will help ensure client satisfaction with a project’s architectural aspects. #LI-AM3

Major Responsibilities:

  • Plans, develops, coordinates and reviews architectural work on a medium size project or assignment in support of a global business unit​. Coordinates and interfaces as directed with the day-to-day technical work of personnel​

  • Develops conceptual designs for architectural projects or projects having specialized or unique architectural requirements​

  • Supports preparation of estimates, staffing needs and schedules​

  • Prepares the preparation of discipline estimates and work plan in accordance with project scope, schedule, and budget, and supports implementation and assists with performance reporting​

  • Reviews and approves key engineering drawings and calculations and bid summaries​

  • Interprets new or special regulations, codes, standards, criteria, and performance data​

  • Coordinates with client representatives, as directed, to obtain their approval of architectural aspects of the work​

  • Reviews and approves key design documents, supplier drawings and data, material specifications, drawings, and change orders, for the project to which assigned​

  • Mentors architectural personnel by providing on-the-job training for their professional development​

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires a degree in architecture and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience​.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Prior experience in planning and executing greenfield or brownfield projects in one or more of the following market segments: Semiconductor, Electric Vehicle, Battery, or Data Center.

  • Working knowledge of Revit and Navisworks.

  • Previous experience preparing estimated quantities, job hour estimates, and schedule planning.

  • Working knowledge of the International Building Code (IBC)

  • Experience in resolving complex technical problems and the ability to articulate explanations.

  • Excellent listening, oral, and written communication, planning, and organizational skills.

  • A license to practice architecture from a recognized licensing board.

  • Broad knowledge of industry/regulatory codes and standards and design criteria pertinent to the discipline, knowledge of design applicable safety, health, environmental regulations.
