The Work
The role of Lead Systems Engineer involves performing analysis for various Department of Defense products and technologies, utilizing mathematical models and simulation to support mission analysis, concept development, and system requirements validation. Key responsibilities include participating in design and development of new modeling capabilities, identifying and addressing system defects, and demonstrating understanding of adversary threat systems and major elements within Aegis. The role also requires evaluating and implementing systems analysis processes, interpreting Navy requirements, and simulating operational scenarios using analysis tools. Additionally, the individual will work with element engineers to resolve issues, review and update scripts, and prepare presentations for various stakeholders, including senior management and Navy representatives.

Basic Qualifications:
•BS Degree in Mathematics, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering or other related Engineering or Science discipline
• Minimum of 8-9 years' relevant experience to include:
root cause analysis, problem solving skills, and a basic understanding of statistical analysis
• Experience with Monte Carlo and distributed simulation techniques
• Knowledge of the Aegis Weapons System
• Demonstrated experience in programming and a proficiency with scripting languages
• Demonstrated ability to lead and work in fast paced, team-oriented environment, build consensus among peers and effective relationships with customers, and effectively manage change, identify issues, and work with stakeholders to develop solutions
• Strong technical writing and oral communication skills
• Ability to obtain & maintain a U.S. DoD Security Clearance at the SECRET level
Desired Skills:
• MS Degree in Mathematics, Data Science, Data Analytics, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering or other related Engineering or Science discipline
• Basic understanding of data analytics techniques
• Familiarity with Agile Development Process
• Published peer reviewed research within industry
• Results oriented team player, creative thinker and problem-solver

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
