UnitedHealth Group Training Specialist, Non-Clinical - Telecommute in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Utilizes virtual training methods and travel to MedExpress centers to provide training (primarily to non-clinical employees), pre and post center opening, as needed. This may include new hire onboarding for non-clinical center employees, professional growth training across the platform, leadership and management skills development seminars, compliance and regulatory training, and new center training as needed

  • Provides professional development, leadership and management skills, customer service, and other career development training to support the continued growth of the organization’s FOAs and Center Managers

  • Provides training on all areas of non-clinical operations including policy and procedures, systems, center operations, and other areas of daily operation

  • Supports the design, development of training materials, planning, coordination, and execution of culture, leadership skills, professional development, and service excellence training programs across the enterprise

  • Assists Training Intake & Program Manager to provide train-the-trainer sessions for peers to expand training team expertise

  • Assists center management with evaluation of staff following trainings

  • Provides regular feedback to staff and management on their proficiency and performance during training

  • Provides coaching support to individuals participating in training and development programs

  • Assists management with problem solving training (e.g. IT issues, common mistakes, system errors etc.)

  • Maintains accurate training records and notes

  • Maintains accurate metrics as required including timely and thorough completion of all necessary program assignments, progress reports and other required documentation

  • Stays current on all ME policy and procedural updates and applying updates to curriculum and learning materials

  • Works with Director of Talent Development, Senior Manager of Talent, and Leadership Development Program Manager to update and create new training content as assigned including presentations, job aids, instructor guides, activities and assessments

  • Makes independent decisions to adapt training to the learners needs, as required

  • Assists with logistics, transportation and coordination of materials, site locations and hardware setup

  • Functions as a consultant to platform business partners

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Adult Education, Business, Human Resources, Communications, or related field. Will consider an Associate’s Degree and equivalent training experience in lieu of Bachelor’s degree

  • 2+ years of experience in HR/training, including knowledge of adult learning principles and experience with content/course development and facilitation

  • Solid computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft products (i.e. Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

  • Valid driver’s license from the state of residence

  • Knowledge or experience with presentation skills, instructional design basics and adult learning objectives

  • Ability to provide leadership necessary to ensure a positive team approach, guide and coach others, and convey compliance requirements

  • Ability to present in a professional and engaging manner to management

  • Ability to maintain organized, detailed records and to multi-task

  • Ability to communicate confidently and professionally in both written and oral forms

  • Ability to train/present to small to medium size groups, both in-person and virtually

  • Ability to establish and maintain positive, professional relationships

  • Desire to expand knowledge of training and development industry standards and develop new skill set

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience designing, delivering, and/or evaluating professional development and/or leadership skills training

  • Experience working at a MedExpress Center

  • 2+ years of experience working in customer service, administration, or the healthcare industry

  • One or more of the following certifications: Six Sigma, PMI, or CPLP

  • One or more certifications or experience using key leadership skills development tools, such as DiSC, MBTI, Crucial Conversations, etc.

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only : The salary range for Colorado residents is $43,200 to $76,700. The salary range for Connecticut/Nevada residents is $47,700 to $84,400. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
