For more information, visit amwater.com and join American Water on LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. _ Work Schedule_ Wednesday to Sunday 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Position may be subject to mandatory off hours call-out and overtime. _ Primary Role_ Operates assigned Dump Truck which may require a valid CDL license and performs Utility Person work as directed. _ Key Accountabilities_ * Drives and operates truck equipped with dump body to load, unload, and transport materials to and from job sites. * May load or unload truck by hand or by operating mechanical loader. * Maintains a properly equipped vehicle which may include DOT DVIR inspections. * Performs work as a Utility Person and as described in the Utility Person job description. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor. _ Knowledge/Skills_ * Must have basic geographical knowledge of company's service area and working knowledge of company policies, procedures and safety practices as well as regulations regarding confined spaces. * Ability to operate company equipment and vehicles necessary for completion of assigned responsibilities. * Attainment of specialized knowledge and skillsets will be required for certain specialized Utility work. _ Experience/Education_ * Prior utility experience preferred. * High School Diploma or Equivalent. _ Certifications & Licenses_ * Must have a Class B or Class A CDL (with air brakes). * Individuals hired into or awarded a Utility Dump Truck Driver position, must take and pass the appropriate state certification examination for Class E Water Distribution License within 24 months, and apply for certification within 6 months of achieving the minimum experience requirement for certification, if he or she had not already met the minimum experience requirement upon passing the certification test. _ Work Environment_ * Must be adaptable to variations in topography and weather conditions. * Must be able to lift and maneuver equipment and materials of varying weights up to 100 lbs. _ Other_ * Required to possess and maintain a drivers license valid in the state of their residence. * Will be required to complete and maintain forms needed for a driver qualification file. * Will be required to obtain a DOT medical card. _ Competencies_ Champions safety Customer obsessed Cultivates innovation Nimble learning Drives Results Collaborates * Join American Water...We Keep Life Flowing™ * American Water is firmly committed to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and prohibits employment discrimination for employees and applicants based on his or her age, race, color, pregnancy, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, religion, marital status, citizenship, or because they are an individual with a disability, protected veteran or other status protected by federal, state, and local laws.
