MetLife CCM Sr Software Development Engineer in Cary, North Carolina

Role Value Proposition:

Responsible for the understanding and solutioning projects related to core services products/platforms and managing implementations of proposed solutions through the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • First point of contact for technical questions related to tools/solutions.

  • Work with business partners to determine how core services could provide value or help them achieve their goals / address business challenges.

  • Leads planning, organizing and implementing of small to medium application delivery projects.

  • Partner with multiple management teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals as well as identify and define necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process improvements.

  • Resolve variety of high impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards and MetLife Strategy.

  • Assist in planning, organizing and implementing of Large projects and strategic programs.

  • Follows approved SDLC, project management methodology and Agile framework, ensuring that all required steps are followed, all required deliverables are produced, and all approvals are obtained.

  • Leads in identifying application / process risks and conducts in depth analysis to develop mitigation plans.

  • Proactively manages all application related risk items / findings to closure / resolution.

  • Manages and oversees the full system development process, and turnover to production.

  • Utilizes advanced knowledge of system flows and develops standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation.

  • Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions.

Required Skills:

  • 3 to 4 years experience in the Agile framework and tools.

  • 5+ years extensive knowledge in either xPression, OT Exstream, Smart Comm or Quadient (GMC) Inspire product suite - Designer, Automation, Scalar and Interactive.

  • Familiar with Quadient Digital Advantage Suite (DAS), Customer Journey Mapping and Messenger a plus.

  • Experience in all aspects of the software development life cycle using document compositions tools.

  • Ability to create and design complex forms in Inspire Designer based on the business specifications.

  • Ability to deliver end-to-end print applications solutions.

  • Experience and desire to work in a Global delivery environment.

  • JASON, XML, XSD

  • Experienced with DB2, SQL Server – Using Data Modeling tools a plus.

  • Experience with Web Design & Development; Java Script; HTML5

Preferred Technical Skills:

  • 4 years of development experience with any programming language; Java is a plus

  • Strong analytical and communication skills

  • Experience working with JASON, XML and XSD Schema

  • Experience with Use case / Functional Design Review, Technical Design Review, and Test Cases review

  • Familiarity with supporting Performance testing

  • Familiarity with Web Services, DB2, SQL Server, Linux Shell scripts

Preferred Experience:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field preferred or equivalent work experience.

  • Experience with Customer Communications Management, Enterprise Content Management or Webservices technologies.

  • Experience in cloud implementation / migrations highly desired

  • Familiar with containerization and micro services highly desired
