Caterpillar’s Global Construction & Infrastructure (GCI) team is hiring a Commercial Manager of Growth Industries .
Role Summary: This role manages the commercial responsibilities for our governmental sales to the state, county, and municipalities and the day-to-day support for our attachments (work tool) business in North America. The role ensures compliance with cooperative contracts and leads the team in all sales support, dealer development, and marketing activities for the governmental business.
What You’ll Do (Job Duties)
Lead, develop, and execute commercial strategy for Governmental sales at the state, county, and municipal new equipment sales of the Caterpillar product portfolio in North America.
Identifying and analyzing organization's ability to respond to opportunities in the governmental sales environment.
Supervising and coordinating the daily activities of staff (3 team members) engaged in promoting and selling products; oversee resolution of customer concerns.
Develop and manage sales programs in alignment with long and short-term strategies; establish training programs for sales team.
Manage and direct sales support activities to achieve sales and profit goals.
Lead, develop, and execute commercial support functions for the North America attachment strategy for GCI (Global Construction and Infrastructure) prime product.
Lead team of commercial analysts (4 team members) to support Cat Dealer and Cat sales team in the execution of annual business plan.
Drive resolution of gaps in expected support levels for customers, Cat Dealers, and Cat business partners.
Ensure corporate support systems remain healthy and functional to support day-to-day requirements of the team to provide support to our customers.

Business Development: Experience with business development tools, techniques and approaches; ability to explore and develop potential areas of business growth for the organization.
Value Selling: Ability to provide overall product/service 'value' and to differentiate support offerings that address clearly understood customer needs.
Top Candidates Will Also Have
Sales, sales support, dealer development and/or industry marketing experience
Prior supervisory experience
MBA or advanced degree

Preferred work location: Peoria, IL
Cary, NC may also be considered as a work location
Domestic relocation assistance is available to Peoria, IL only
Travel: 25% within North America
Summary Pay Range:
$144,960.00 - $217,320.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
