MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE

• Perform analytical testing on in-process, finished product and plant utilities as prescribed in the various quality procedures, while ensuring specifications and quality standards are met.

• Test for release of product to manufacturing for further processing, filling, and drying.

• Produce the highest quality results while operating within the constraints of the safety guidelines to meet the manufacturing schedule.

• Maintain good laboratory and manufacturing practices; test according to laboratory methods; provide timely feedback to supervisor and chemists on the next shift; develop and maintain positive relationships with chemists and operators from other departments that interact with the laboratory. This is a training position which requires following the analytical lab on-the-job training (OJT) process.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Observe all safety rules and regulations. Report incidents, near-misses, and chemical spills in the proper manner to chemist acting as shift lead, front line leader or manager. Wear all required personal protective equipment, participate in EHS programs and forward any opportunities for improvement.

• Perform assays in accordance with required methods. Ensure test results meet specification limits and that appropriate quality actions are taken to achieve acceptable product status.

• Ensure data is entered into a Laboratory Information Management System as well as any other applicable systems or documented on appropriate forms.

• Coordinate testing with processing stages and filling or drying requirements to ensure minimum downtime during processing, filling, or drying operations.

• Set batch fields, optimize and release product to the filling or dryer production departments from the processing department,

• Perform finished product tests.

• Complete project work as assigned.

The base pay for this position is $18.07 – $36.13 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
