Provide team leadership in the day-to-day activities for an assigned production area or work group. Supervises manufacturing personnel and responsible for meeting production schedule and product quality requirements. Develops and implements production operational excellence activities and identifies and executes continuous improvement opportunities in production processes, plans, tasks, and solutions.

The Material Control Front line Leader will lead team through all department responsibilities including the site Material Requirements Planning (MRP) process, raw material inventory management, supplier delivery performance, and team projects.

  • Coach and direct individuals and teams to meet performance goals and objectives, to improve overall Material Control capability to deliver performance results.

  • Lead the development of goal setting for the team and individuals on the team.

  • Provide timely coaching, counseling, and feedback.

  • Assure team members are trained and understand duties, responsibilities, and performance against established expectations.

  • Model and promote the organization’s value and drive a culture of engagement throughout the organization, by providing effective leadership, direction, development, and support to the team.

  • Enter data into a database or other computerized system to maintain up-to-date stock records, retrieve stored information, place orders, or respond to enquiries.

  • Obtain knowledge across several plant inventory and ERP systems and understand their interactions and interdependencies.

  • Ensuring proper procedures are followed in the purchase of direct and indirect materials per corporate purchasing policies.

  • Provide guidance for team solutions for addressing inventory replenishment gaps by working with suppliers, other departments, and division partners.

  • Work with cross-functional groups to identify, address and evaluate impact of distressed inventory; lead actions to mitigate inventory risks.

  • Act as backup to coworkers on department tasks as needed such as production scheduling, material ordering, cycle counting, etc.

  • Work with cross-functional groups to implement new product introduction and participate in projects.

  • Deliver continuous improvement efforts for days on hand management and safety stock of raw material inventory, along with quarterly adjustments to inventory changes.

  • Lead tracking and trending of KPI's including implementation of corrective actions.

  • Participate in site evaluation of PIER’s (Planning Investment Electronic Request)

  • Develop and implement production operational excellence activities and identify and execute continuous improvement opportunities in production processes, plans, tasks, and solutions.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering.

  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement processes.

  • 4+ years of Supervisory experience.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing, warehouse management, and/or other supply chain disciplines.

The base pay for this position is $83,000.00 – $166,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
