The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream from procurement to design and manufacturing to distribution. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurement and the design and manufacture of Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters).

Job Summary

Provides guidance and supervision to ensure the accomplishment of distribution center goals, including those related to budget and cost structure.

Additional Information

• This role is located in Champaign, IL and does not offer relocation

• This is a 2nd shift role, the hours are typically 2:30pm - 10:30pm Central time, however due to operational needs distribution managers may need to work overtime at times

What You Will Do

• Adhering to requirements and procedures for safety regulations.

• Making workflow decisions under the direction of management. Improving service levels and costs for distribution center operations.

• Supervising and motivating distribution center employees through effective coaching and training, clear communication of job expectations, and positive reinforcement of exemplary performance; maintaining a positive distribution center working environment.

• Implementing productivity, quality, and service standards. Resolving problems and identifying areas for improvements. Contributing performance data to strategic plans and reviews.

• Ensuring all equipment receives preventative maintenance and repairs, as necessary.

What You Will Have

• Warehouse Management: Knowledge of the policies, processes and systems of warehouse management; ability to effectively manage one or more warehouses or distribution centers while always focusing on safety

• Coaching Others: Knowledge of coaching and mentoring concepts and methods; ability to encourage, motivate, and guide individuals in learning and improving effectiveness. Comfortable communicating with others.

• Leadership: Knowledge of leadership practices and processes; ability to use strategies and skills to enlist others in setting, embracing and achieving objectives while having a long-term perspective of the future state of things and how to get there.

What Will Set You Apart

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, or business administration

• Ability to communicate clearly in a global environment
