Northrop Grumman Space Systems is searching for an experienced Sr. Principal Engr Software to join the Systems Engineering Integration & Test Development Team within Launch Vehicles business unit located in Chandler, AZ.

The Sr. Principal Software Engineer designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs desktop and web-based applications software that support Northrop Grumman's digital transformation initiative. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

9 Years of relevant experience with Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or other STEM related degree; 7 Years with Masters; 4 Years with a PhD.

Experience with Agile software development using Python in a Microsoft Windows and/or Red Hat Enterprise Linux environment.

Knowledge of object oriented design and how to apply it in software development.

An experienced self-starter who can work and problem solve independently with minimal guidance.

Experience with Atlassian toolset (Bitbucket, JIRA, Confluence, Bamboo).

Experience with Git distributed version control system.

Working knowledge of Windows and Red Hat Linux Operating Systems.

U.S. Citizenship is required

Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance is required

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with DevOps principles including automated build pipelines (Jenkins or Bamboo)

Working knowledge of SQL databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL

Experience using Django, REST and JSON, Javascript, HTML 5 and CSS.

Experience with DOORS and/or Teamwork Cloud APIs

Experince with micro service architectures
