Job Description:

The Global Markets Risk (GMR) COO team is responsible for ensuring “best-in-class” Operations and Control framework alongside consistent risk governance processes across GMR. The team supports a number of Board and Governance/Management Risk Committee deliverables for GMR, including organizing, reviewing and challenging submission materials. The team manages the detailed policy process, business operations, and risk and controls responsibilities. GMR is looking for a highly motivated individual to support key risk governance and strategy deliverables. Given the team’s consolidated view of the GMR organization, the team also supports key deliverables for the Global Markets Chief Risk Officer, including internal and external presentations, consolidated risk reporting and analysis, and briefing materials.

Key Responsibilities will span across two core areas:

Business Operations/Controls:

• Manage Business Operations activities including, but not limited to: Business Continuity Planning, Events Management, Location Strategy and Access Management

• Supports executive routines such as Quarterly Business Reviews and executive performance reviews, working with applicable SMEs for inputs as required

• Develops and supports executive communication strategy and execution including but not limited to supporting Town Halls/All Hands meetings, Associate Survey analysis and action planning/tracking/messaging at all levels

• Support employee engagement in close partnership with EDIC leads, HR/Learning Partners to drive comprehensive approach across key stakeholder groups.

• Strategic Priorities: Ensure delivery against GMR Strategic priorities identified via GMR offsite, ESAT survey results.

• Operational Excellence: Drive GMR engagement and timely delivery of various deliverables related to OpEx program.

• Management Controls Committee: Responsible for supporting GMR delivery of enterprise-wide initiative with increased focus and scrutiny to ensure process and control effectiveness, drive efficiency and reduce operational risk.

• Fundamental Review of the Trading Book (FRTB) Regulations: Drive GMR FRTB Forum and influence discussions across GMR to ensure compliance with the FRTB Regulatory Rules across various jurisdictions.

Governance/ Executive Reporting:

• Managing governance activities for GMR including setting the agenda with the co-chairs, collecting materials, distributing materials to committee members and regulators

• Managing the GMR policy process which includes drafting, socializing, and implementing key policies within GMR

• Drafting written executive-level communications (e.g., memos and presentations)

• Supporting key deliverables for the regional GMR Chief Risk Officer, including internal and external presentations and briefings

• Performing ad-hoc analysis on various risk and regulatory topics and engaging with Legal and Regulatory Relations teams in responding to regulatory inquires and issues.

Required Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in financial services industry or experience in a related field covering business operations, Controls and governance based activities. Some of the desired attributes include:

• Ability to think strategically across GMR to identify opportunities to improve overall performance efficiency.

• Ability to challenge the status quo, produce appropriate changes and implement goals

• Strong partnership and relationship building skills with the ability to influence

• Ability to track performance and analyze data/progress metrics to benchmark against short and long-term goals

• Acts as trusted advisor across GMR and with key stakeholders across the broader organization

• Ability to develop comprehensive plans around key control priorities and ensure all accountable parties understand respective roles/responsibilities

• Strong analytical, and organizational skills; focus on attention to detail

• Excellent written / verbal communication skills and executive presence.

• Proven ability to develop executive ready communications and presentations.
