Job Description:
As an Automation Lead, this individual contributor is responsible for driving continual Finance process efficiencies through automation, primarily utilizing emerging desktop tools such as Alteryx, FactSet, Tableau, and Workiva as well as optimizations within Excel using functionality such as PowerQuery and VBA. There is an expectation that this automation lead will routinely interact with their business partners to understand their processes and identify opportunities to automate, improve and streamline process. In an effort to drive, deliver and design solutions to our business partners, activities will include gathering requirements, testing and end-user education as needed. Additionally this role will work in partnership with the analysts on the team to implement and drive these solutions. At times, responsibilities may also include managing BAU processes to ensure appropriate SME coverage when required.
Key Responsibilities include:
Managing and improving the work: full understanding of the work processes, continuous focus on process improvement through simplification, innovation and use of emerging technology tools, and understanding data sourcing and transformation
Drive Operational Excellence; develop and execute strategies to constantly be improving the work we do across CFO and how we get the work done
Managing risk: managing and reducing all risk, proactively identify risks, issues and concerns and manage controls to help drive responsible growth (ex: Compliance, Operational – SAFER, SIAIs, procedures, data management, etc), establish a risk culture to encourage early escalation and self-identifying issues
Effective communication: deliver transparent, concise and consistent messaging while influencing and leading - drive change across teams
Partner with individual contributors and customers of the horizontal regarding capacity planning, performance & development, skill sets, learning opportunities
Collaborate with Horizontal leaders across the Consumer/GWIM organization to drive consistency and efficiency in communication, accountability and change execution
Ensure to understand and deliver the whole company, including ESG awareness and community involvement

Financial expertise with knowledge of the company’s lines of business and products
Proven performance record to influence others to perform and deliver well controlled results

Required Skills:
Bachelor's degree (Finance / Accounting preferred) and/or equivalent work experience
7+ years of professional/demonstrated work experience within financial services industry
Proficiency with 2 or more desktop automation tools (Alteryx, FactSet, Tableau, Workiva, SharePoint)
Advanced Excel Skills (i.e. PowerQuery, VBA macros) in addition to proficiency across the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, OneNote)
Working knowledge of various Financial systems EPM/eLedger/BPC Capability to decompose complex issues and drive timely decisions, knowing when to engage others and when to act independently
Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet critical deadlines
Superior ability to communicate concepts and ideas both verbally and in written form
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work cohesively within a team oriented environment
Self-motivated to consistently achieve personal standards of excellence
Strong attention to detail coupled with control oriented mindset
Ability to identify process improvement opportunities and take ownership of ascertaining possible solutions and carrying through to completion their implementation
Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic and fluid environment
Strong business partnering experience / skills including the ability to interact, communicate and influence equally well both within all levels of an organization and across multiple groups.
