The Power Grid Operations (PGO) Siting Specialist is at the beginning levels of the Siting classification hierarchy as an individual contributor. Employee will interface with other departments within the PGO business unit and will start to build relationships with key subject matter experts within each of the departments. This position will represent Siting in Development meetings, develop siting project scopes, schedules and cost estimates for siting studies. Responsible for gathering and reviewing data and reports for siting studies. Provide tracking/updates for all siting projects and to provide support to the Senior and/or Lead Siting Managers. Employees at this level will have oversight and supervision from the Senior and/or Lead Siting Managers.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the management of tasks and projects according to approved scopes of work, and review quality reports on schedule and within budget
Assist Senior and/or Lead Siting Managers in conducting transmission line routing and substation siting studies
Review contract documents
Execute specific technical tasks or requirements for low risk projects
Plan and conduct assignments and/or projects with oversight
Basic Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, business, real estate or other related field of study
Minimum of 3 years of experience
Desired Qualifications and Capabilities
Master’s degree in civil engineering, environmental science, business, real estate or other related field of study.
An understanding of Geographic Information System (GIS) processes and capabilities.
Design experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Ability to work multiple projects at the same time.
Ability to collaborative with a diverse workforce to obtain the best solution and work towards a common goal or objective.
Ability to support siting/permitting or supporting local land use permitting within multiple regulatory jurisdictions.
Ability to executing technical aspects of low-risk routing and siting projects, is desirable.
Proficient skills in technical writing.
Skilled in communications and technical information exchange.
Disciplined approach to project execution and technical excellence.
Ability to provide written and verbal communication.
Shows leadership in striving to continuously improve technical performance.
Builds and maintains productive professional and personal networking relationships.
Good driving record and valid driver’s license required.
Working Environment
Typical office environment working with computers
Hybrid: required to be in-person within the office 2-3 days a week
Field work is required based on project needs
Travel Required: 25%
