BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee Individual Sales Rep in Chattanooga, Tennessee

Our Sales and Account Management Division is seeking an Individual Sales Representative. We are looking for a competitive, sales-driven individual who excels in consultative selling, asks insightful questions, and thrives both independently and as a team player. The Individual Sales Rep will be responsible for selling Individual Products, Medicare Advantage, and ancillary products. This role offers an hourly wage plus commission, with a primary work schedule of Monday to Friday. During the Open Enrollment period (October 1st – January 15th), the schedule may extend to six days a week with longer hours. Job Responsibilities

  • Participating in preliminary conversational interviews and providing clients with appropriate insurance solutions to a variety of related problems.
  • Maintaining and enhancing relationships with existing clients and developing relationships with new ones.
  • Participating in the ongoing customer maintenance and prospect communication; developing specific new leads for sales agents.
  • Assisting in overseeing the competitive environment at the operational level and sharing related information with marketing and sales colleagues.
  • A current Tennessee Life and Health Insurance License or the ability to be licensed within 30 days of hire is required.

Job Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or related field

Experience

  • 3 years - Sales, Account Management, or Underwriting experience required

Skills\Certifications

  • Ability to conduct root cause analysis, plan, organize and coordinate multiple projects
  • Analytical and decision making abilities.
  • Outstanding negotiation, presentation, and facilitation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint)
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills
