BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee Supervisor Health Promotion in Chattanooga, Tennessee

Supervises the day-to-day activities of a team of staff supporting population health quality improvement programs.

Job Description:

Job Responsibilities

  • Designs and provides guidance to staff and internal and external customers regarding system processes, policies and procedures, as well as technical and non-routine questions.
  • Analyzes the needs of the population, recommends actions for improvement and prepares summaries and recommendations for upper management.
  • Hiring, developing, motivating, and coaching the staff; working with managers, staff and other employees to meet customer needs in a responsive, efficient manner
  • Guiding and supervising the day to day operations of population health programs including ensuring that performance and timeliness goals are met and accurately reported; supporting initiatives for process improvement, ensuring successful completion of assigned projects and monitoring the processes to ensure compliance with quality level and regulations and to reduce the business or fraud risk exposed to company.
  • Various immunizations and/or associated medical tests may be required for this position.

Job Qualifications

Education

  • Knowledge of educational programs, including research projects, extra-curricular activities, and academic planning; ability to manage these programs.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required. Equivalent experience is defined as 4 years of professional work experience in a corporate environment

Experience

  • 2 years - Experience in a leadership/management role required
  • 3 years - Experience in health promotion to include preventive and/or chronic disease education

Skills\Certifications

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or function in a team environment sharing responsibility, roles and accountability.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint)
  • Must be a team player, be organized and have the ability to handle multiple projects
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

Job Specific Requirements:
