BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee Supervisor Quality Management in Chattanooga, Tennessee

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and disseminating documentation and reports pertaining to quality and compliance issues, procedures, processes and methodologies. Coordinate the submission of the annual documents to the BCBST Board of Directors for approval.
  • Staying abreast of changes in accreditation and regulatory requirements for the various areas of the enterprise and takes appropriate action to address these changes.
  • Using research experience and data analysis as tools for identifying existing potential health and service opportunities for improvement and provide recommendations for resolutions of identified problems.
  • Manages quality audits and assists with performance improvement across the enterprise. Ensure that all projects and departmental activities meet Accreditation and Regulatory requirements.

Job Qualifications

Education

  • BS degree in Nursing or related field preferred or equivalent work experience required equivalent experience is defined as 4 years of professional work experience

License

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with active license in the state of Tennessee or hold a license in the state of their residence if the state is participating in the Nurse Licensure Compact Law.

Experience

  • 5 years - Managed care experience, or experience with regulatory or accrediting body requirements (i.e., URAC, NCQA, EQRO, and CMS) and Clinical Quality Improvement experience required
  • 2 years - Experience in a leadership/management role required

Skills\Certifications

  • Certification as a Professional in Healthcare Quality, CCM or CLNC (Certified Legal Nurse Consultant)
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or function in a team environment sharing responsibility, roles and accountability.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Must be a team player, be organized and have the ability to handle multiple projects

  • Experience with Adobe, preferred.

  • Experience with audits and surveys, preferred.
  • Experience with health plan accreditations and reviews, preferred.
  • Experience with external quality review organizations for the state of TN, preferred.
  • Experience with data analysis, preferred.
  • Experience with Utilization Management and/or Complex Case Management, preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team and finish a task within a set timeline.
