Lockheed Martin Manufacturing Engineer Sr / Second Shift / Chelmsford, MA in Chelmsford, Massachusetts

Description: Lockheed Martin's Chelmsford Operations facility is a leading hub for innovation in microelectronics, supporting critical aerospace and defense programs. Our team is dedicated to producing advanced technology solutions that safeguard national security and advance the industry. We are seeking and experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our growing team.

In this role, you will have an understanding of all assembly techniques and materials used to produce microwave hybrids including substrate and die epoxy attach as well as wire bonding. You will have experience with J-STD-001 solder assembly, conductive epoxy attach of substrates and semiconductor die, gold wedge and ball-bonding, and seal / hermeticity testing. You'll design the sequence of operations and specify procedures for the fabrication of tooling and other functions that affect product performance. In addition, you will inspect performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency. You'll investigate hardware failures and initiate corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality. You will ensure processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.

The Locale: Chelmsford is a charming suburb of Boston located about 25 miles northwest of that city. Chelmsford is very close to historic Lowell Massachusetts and to Nashua, New Hampshire. Chelmsford is within reach of New Hampshire’s White Mountains and awesome ski areas to the north, and the scenic coastal towns of MA and NH are about an hour east. This scenic colonial region offers lots of New England charm, great schools, shopping, and restaurants. Chelmsford and the region share an impressive past from the early days after the pilgrims arrived in Plymouth to the revolutionary war. Where can you get to from Chelmsford? Chelmsford is about 90 minutes from Cape Cod. Boston is about 30 minutes to the east without traffic. New York City is about 4.5 hours away from Chelmsford. Waterville Valley and other major ski resorts of New Hampshire and Vermont are about 2 to 3 hours to the north. It should be noted that Chelmsford, Massachusetts is approximately 35 miles northwest of the Boston metropolitan area and offers better access to a wide range of substantially more affordable regions in the area to live. Those regions include Northeastern and North Central Massachusetts, and Southern, New Hampshire.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in an Engineering-related field, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Master's degree

• Demonstrated technical engineering experience with electronics manufacturing and production automation systems is required

• Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint

• Ability to work overtime if needed to support special projects

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship. Requires the ability to obtain an Interim Secret Clearance prior to starting position

Desired Skills:

• Candidate must have an outstanding work ethic, excellent teaming skills, and ability to multi-task with multiple projects and job tasks

• Candidate must be self-motivated, customer-focused, proactive, and able to professionally support and quickly adapt to changes in program or customer requirements

• Candidate must have good verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with management, customers and peers

• Knowledge of SAP, APRISO, and Windchill is beneficial

• Knowledge of MRSI, Palomar, Hesse Mechatronics, Delvotec equipment is beneficial

• Microwave Hybrid manufacturing experience, Design of Experiment experience, Lean/Six Sigma certification, J-STD-001 certification, Automated epoxy dispense & component placement, Automated Wire Bonding Equipment, and defense industry experience

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
