Caterpillar’s Innovation Components and Solutions (ICS) Division is looking for a person to serve as the Digital Technical Analyst for the Digital Manufacturing and Assurance of Supply team within Manufacturing Technology & Solutions group.

Job Purpose: Lead and execute Digital Transformation projects for Manufacturing Engineering and Supply Chain functions of Caterpillar Plants worldwide for the Section and lead process automation projects for Manufacturing Technology and Solutions group.

Job Duties:

This position is the Lead Engineer for Digital Transformation projects in Data Analysis, Data Analytics, Machine Learning, dashboarding, Power Platform in his/her scope and would also be managing and delivering the process automation projects for the Manufacturing Technology and Solutions group. The process automations would primarily be in the services and solutions offered by the Manufacturing Technology and Services group and hence the incumbent should have a deep understanding of the group’s competencies (virtual manufacturing, tool design, BOM planning, PMD, PMCT, manufacturing process design, offline programming and layout planning in assembly, fabrication, machining and testing domains) and must possess knowledge about the operations of the functions under the Order to Delivery domain (Engineering, Supply Chain, Supplier Development, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Demand and orders and Logistics). The process automations would be aimed at making breakthrough and/or continuous improvements to the current processes.

The position designs, codes, tests, and debugs programs of varying degrees of complexity.

Program/project management skills and organizational skills are critical to ensure on-time delivery at the required quality levels. Position requires excellent human relations, interpersonal, communications skills and must be result oriented. The incumbent must have the ability to drive the team towards an optimized result under dynamic and complex circumstances.

This position must leverage internal teams or external suppliers to deliver process automation projects for the group and must use fact and decision-based approach to select and prioritize projects and its solutions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education - Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Technology or Sciences (preferably manufacturing focused) and 5+ years of industry experience.

  • The ability to make criteria-based decisions

  • Data Analysis and Analytic skills

  • Working experience with advanced Power BI features

  • Programming skills

  • Clear understanding of the Manufacturing and Supply chain functions

  • Must have delivered process automation projects

  • Knowledge of manufacturing engineering and operations

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in an accredited Engineering curriculum

  • Knowledge of Lean and 6 Sigma methodologies

  • Experience in providing engineering services for remotely located clients in a global organization

  • A sense of urgency balanced with a strong commitment to quality

  • Experience working in CAT-Digital, PSLD
