Merck Associate Director, National Business Planning Leader - US Pharma in Cheyenne, Wyoming
The US Pharma National Business Planning Leader, Associate Director, provides centralized strategic business planning support for the US Pharma Organization, including both field sales and account management leadership. This Planning Lead is a high-performing leader who serves as a unified operations / analytics voice and provide insights for the US Pharma organization, and an active member of the US Pharma Sales Pack agile team.
Reporting to the Director, Sales Force Planning and Innovation, the incumbent will lead a team of two direct reports and will provide the strategic and planning support for sales leadership to help achieve business, customer, and people goals.
As a leader within the Sales Force Planning and Innovation Team, the incumbent will help lead the organization’s continued evolution to align with US Market and BU priorities. This includes an acceleration of planning / analytic capabilities anchored in advanced analytics and optimized standard reporting via appropriate implementation of tools, techniques, and approaches. The incumbent will demonstrate close collaboration with other Business Partners to ensure an integrated approach & output across brands and customer types.
Responsibilities include and may not be limited to:
Align team efforts to drive achievement of net sales and operating income targets in a manner consistent with all policies and regulations.
Establish and maintain a comprehensive portfolio view of performance and advise on strategies and tactics to optimize portfolio performance on an ongoing basis.
Lead the decision analysis & strategic planning support within the purview of the leader(s) to facilitate resource optimization and trade-off decisions across all customers and customer segments.
Direct and coordinate a consistent business planning process across geographies and customer facing roles.
Lead essential operational processes including by not limited to new product/ indication launches, structure and deployment changes, etc.
Collaborate with a diverse group of stakeholders and manage the complexity across headquarter functions to facilitate a seamless operational experience for both field sales and account management, including collaboration with brand marketing and payer brand leads to inform strategy and monitor execution.
Lead the development of insights leveraging traditional data and analytics in addition to learnings from Sales Pack and other organizational experiments to drive key business decisions.
As a core team member of the Sales Pack agile team, supports agile processes and ceremonies as appropriate.
Education Minimum Requirement:
- High school diploma
Required Experience and Skills:
Minimum five (5) years of experience in pharmaceutical sales, account management and/or headquarters roles.
Exceptional leadership, business acumen, communication, negotiation, project management and teamwork skills.
Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:
Business Planning or analytics experience.
Field Sales Management.

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate’s relevant skills, experience, and education.
Expected salary range:
$135,500.00 - $213,400.00
