Job Description

Credit Associates conduct intensive qualitative and quantitative analysis on company, industry and macroeconomic factors to support credit decisions for GCIB clients. Associates will be deeply involved with underwriting, structuring and documenting financial solutions to meet client credit needs related to working capital loans, M&A financing, hedging, leasing and treasury management products. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Completing comprehensive analysis on client financial statements

  • Identifying and monitoring client and industry risk trends

  • Developing financial statement forecasts and enterprise valuations

  • Modeling transaction and relationship profitability

  • Discussing the merits of financing transactions from a credit risk and relationship perspective

  • Reviewing legal documentation related to loans and derivatives

  • Writing credit memorandums to summarize your analysis and conclusions

  • Training and mentoring Credit Analysts

  • Assisting Credit Officers with structuring, underwriting and documenting credit solutions for clients and with managing client relationships

Qualifications

  • Strong academic credentials, preferably with emphasis in finance, accounting or economics

  • Robust understanding of corporate finance and accounting concepts

  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills

  • Effective time management skills with ability to balance multiple competing priorities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

  • 3+ years of experience in banking
