Position Summary

This position is responsible for prospecting and selling to new customers, as well as growing and retaining existing business. The Sales Representative is expected to effectively meet customers logistical needs with DLS Worldwide value proposition, and ensure highest levels of customer satisfaction at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Performs core-selling activities, including sales call preparation, price negotiation, execution of sales calls, and post-call analysis and reporting.

  • Understands and sells Supply Chain services and solutions that apply to the customer’s value chain.

  • Develops and maintains Account Plans and integrates efforts with other sales reps on targeted accounts as appropriate.

  • Champions the value proposition and ensures customer satisfaction with selling efforts before, during, and post-sale.

  • Prospects for new business within target market segments, qualifies and evaluates prospects.

  • Negotiates terms and finalizes sales including appropriate documentation; wraps up loose ends; and ensures seamless transition of post-sale service activities.

  • Works with marketing to evaluate new market segments and geographic markets.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

Job Knowledge & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.

  • Current presence established in Logistics marketplace.

  • Minimum 3 years selling domestic/international Supply Chain services, including LTL/TL/Freight Forwarding. Additional operations background a plus.

  • Proficient in computer software applications.

  • Strong in: multiple account sales, situation assessment and market/competitive assessment, services and capabilities of the firm, economic evaluation of business opportunities, vertical market pricing applications, and solution matching analysis.

  • Applied knowledge in: identifying specific customer needs, selling skills, prospecting skills that allow a consultative selling approach that focuses on solutions to client needs.

  • Other Competencies: leadership, communication, innovation, service distinctiveness, ability to influence and persuade.
