We have an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Manager within the Cat Digital – Business Resources team providing finance leadership and support to the Digital Product Management organization. As an Accounting Manager within Cat Digital – Business Resources, you will lead a team of finance professionals that perform accounting functions that deal with cost accounting and business decision analysis issues of normal to high complexity that support business processes and provide further experience with Caterpillar cost accounting and decision support practices. Incumbents will be exposed to a variety of accounting functions and accomplish a high level of complex and/or technical analysis, review various outputs for reasonableness and advise other accountants. Incumbents will work on challenging, medium to high-risk issues and make business decisions and recommendations as appropriate. This position is an excellent opportunity to learn more about Cat Digital and digital driven projects that support our enterprise services growth initiatives. In addition, this position will have regular exposure to the CFO, VPs, and SVP of the Cat Digital Division.
What You Will Do:
Provide financial leadership and support to the Digital Product Management organization within Cat Digital, including all aspects of accounting and financial management
Managing Digital Product Management financial operations and/or product portfolio budgeting and expense analysis, such as actual results, quarterly forecasts (RBM), and annual business planning
Communicate and present to senior leaders within the organization on a regular cadence as part of Monthly Business Reviews
NPI support including future cost, should cost and alternative analyses
Determining Internal Rate of Return (IRR) for medium to high complexity projects
Advise and provide guidance to multiple functional areas and levels of authority
Capable of handling broader business issues such as establishing and monitoring target costs, forecasting future product costs, quantifying cost reductions and providing alternatives, and providing competitive analysis for sourcing decisions
Lead initiatives outside team to represent the group (e.g. process improvements, lean initiatives, new business requirements)
Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of Caterpillar’s businesses, products, suppliers and customers

Strategic Thinking: Knowledge of the importance of "big picture" thinking and planning; ability to apply organizational acumen and competitiveness to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organization.
Financial Reporting & Analysis: Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.
Financial Forecasting and Modeling : Knowledge of processes, tools and techniques of financial forecasting and modeling; ability to explore and evaluate alternative financial scenarios and results.
Finance and Accounting: Knowledge of finance and accounting practices, financial analysis, and reporting; ability to apply finance knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
Bachelor's degree in an Accounting or Finance related discipline
Progressive Accounting or Finance experience, including cost accounting and budget development
CPA, CMA, or CFA preferred
Previous experience supporting senior leaders

Summary Pay Range:
$144,960.00 - $217,320.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
