The Role
The Manager, Real Estate Accounting will play a key role in core accounting responsibilities for the Real Estate Accounting team, such as preparing and reviewing journal entries, assisting with transactions, and providing support for requests from internal and external teams on owned & leased assets. This role will assist in identifying and implementing process improvements across the Corporate Accounting team. This role will also lead the statutory reporting process for all required reports to government agencies and standalone entity audits. This individual will lead the coordination between Corporate Accounting and Financial Reporting teams, Tax and Regional Finance teams, Hotel Directors of Finance, and external auditors in order to complete the audited reports within designated timeframes and in accordance with the applicable standards. The responsibilities will also include reviewing the financial statement workbooks prepared by senior accountants on Corporate Accounting, as well as other finance teams, and providing feedback on these reports. This individual will be the main point of contact with our external auditors for these reports. A successful candidate for this role will be strong in both technical accounting as well as analytical skills and excel in efficiency and organization during busy periods.
•Preparation and/or review of journal entries, account reconciliations, cost segregations, analytics, and other requested details used for financial reporting.
•Fielding and resolving inquiries from management, other departments within Hyatt, and external auditors.
•Consolidation of North American and International wholly-owned legal entities based on financial statements prepared by 3rd party accountants.
•Assist with the optimization of accounting procedures and special projects, as required.
•Preparation and/or review of quarterly and annual external reporting schedules, such as those related to cash flows and footnotes.
•Assistance with the preparation and audit review of certain real estate entities, in accordance with the statutory requirements of the respective entities.
•Assist with the optimization of reporting procedures, particularly related to standalone entity financial statements.
•Coordinate with Corporate Accounting, Financial Reporting, Tax, Regional Finance teams, and Hotel Directors of Finance, and prepare or review topside adjustments outside of the general ledger made to standalone entity financial statements.
•Review support to be provided to external auditors for the statutory audits and the Hyatt Hotels Corporation audit.
•Ensure that tight deadlines are met, including management of senior resources.
•Review quarterly external reporting schedules for HHC and coordinate reporting deliverables to joint venture partners as needed.
•Ability to prepare support, including bridge files as well as quarterly financial statements in support of the JV Accounting team.
•Excellent organization skills and ability to multitask. Able to proactively seek out resources to accomplish tasks efficiently and effectively.
•Participate in assigned special projects as needed.
•Ability and willingness to work and learn in a fast-paced corporate environment for a publicly traded company.
•Strong verbal and written communication skills; responds appropriately to verbal and non-verbal cues; can succinctly deliver messages with the desired effect.

Qualifications:
Experience Required:
•5 years of experience in financial reporting, public accounting, or equivalent business/financial role. The ideal candidate would have at least 2 years of public accounting experience
•Experience with financial reporting applications/software
•Strong verbal and written communication skills
•Ability and willingness to operate in a fast-paced and complex corporate environment
•Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business
Experience Preferred:
•Knowledge of the hospitality industry and SEC reporting experience
•Certified Public Accountant
•Experience with Workvia and Smartsheet
•Experience with Financial ERP systems (Oracle and/or Hyperion), Alteryx

The salary range for this position is $95,000 to $134,000. This position is also eligible to earn incentive awards, an annual bonus, monthly or quarterly incentives, etc.
The final pay rate/salary offered to the successful candidate will depend on experience, skill level and other qualifications for the role, as well as the location of the performance of work. Pay for the successful candidate will meet local requirements, including the local minimum wage rate.
