Kellanova Technical Center of Excellence Director in Chicago, Illinois

As a Kellanova Work Systems (KWS) Technical Center Element Lead, you’ll play a critical global role within our engineering organization. Your primary responsibility will be to define the KWS Technical Center strategy and processes across the Kellanova network.

You’ll establish global standards for project and technical workflows within the supply chain, providing direction, metrics, and governance. This is a hybrid role and can be located in any of the following locations: Battle Creek, MI; Cary, NC; Grand Rapids, MI; Jackson, TN; Rome, GA; Zanesville, OH; or Chicago, IL.

A Taste of What You’ll Be Doing

  • Site Management Element Leadership – Create work practices that drive out losses in the reliability, cost, and safety of our site facilities and utilities. Support NRC commitments via good utility management. The impact of loss elimination will drive operational savings and plant reliability across all global sites.

  • Developing & Refining the Process - Define the work processes to drive the local connection to the global standards, provide scale, and reduce project and ongoing production risk. Create work processes to link to the Reliability Management, Autonomous Maintenance, environmental health and safety, and quality food safety KWS Centers of Excellence and the other four elements of the Technical Center Centers of Excellence to Site Management.

  • Building a Community - Sponsor Communities of Practice (CoPs) in facility and utility systems, power controls and information systems, NRC, Cyber, and technical contractor management to identify needs and jointly drive continuous improvement.

  • Facilitating Across the Technical Center – Partner with Technical Center Element and Regional leads to lead critical enabling systems. Element leads take a key facilitation role across many of our sub-teams to tie the efforts and magnify the impact.

  • People Center Implementation across Global Engineering – Partner with human resource business partners to create and deploy key people-center processes to drive the engineering culture. This will include owning people development trainings, organizational health assessment action plans, and partnering with Tech Center Element 1 Lead to drive skills and capability goals.

    We’re Looking for Someone With

  • High School Diploma or GED plus extensive related experience.

  • Demonstrated leadership, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to influence across levels and disciplines.

  • Must be able to provide the vision for new opportunities related to technology and leading industry practices.

  • Up to 30% travel is required (more during initial deployment and less once the program is more mature), may have extended work schedules to drive immediate impact in our business, such as KSUM compliance to drive vertical start-ups.

  • Must have foresight to make linkages in areas like procurement, RM, AM, Leadership Center, People Center, Facilities, etc.

  • Ability to manage challenges with global program deployment in multiple regions, time zones, cultures, and languages.
