ROLE OVERVIEW

DuPont Specialty Products has an exciting opportunity for a First Line Supervisor/Maintenance Coordinator dual role at the Circleville, OH, manufacturing facility. This site is part of the DuPont Specialty Products’ Electronics & Industrial Platform. Electronics & Industrial is comprised of many high growth global businesses supplying a broad array of materials to multiple consumer electronics and industrial sectors. The site currently manufactures Kapton® film, Tedlar® film, Teflon® film and Vespel® resin. This opportunity is for the Teflon® operating area which consists of two casting line assets and an off line treating asset. The Teflon® area is operated under a contract manufacturing agreement for The Chemours Company and falls under the Kapton® organization reporting lines in the Electronics & Industrial business.

The First Line Supervisor role provides organizational leadership and is responsible for the safe and effective execution of daily operations and maintenance activities for the operators, mechanics, and material planner assigned to the Teflon® area. The maintenance coordinator plays a critical role in the organization by coordinating the production requirements with the maintenance and engineering organizations in a way that ensures equipment is available to meet EHS requirements, production demands, and maintenance and/or capital requirements to optimize total business cost. Additionally, this role performs the maintenance planner function which is a critical in identifying, collecting, organizing, and documenting work order job steps with operations, resources, tools, and materials required to safely and effectively execute a maintenance scope of work.

This position is a day-based, exempt job reporting to the Teflon® Area Manager with flexible hours but supports a 24/7 operation and will need to be available for occasional off hours support. The position requires office work and field support.

The Circleville site is located approximately 30 miles south of Columbus, OH, a growing city that is currently the 15th largest in the nation. This proximity to Columbus allows either urban or rural living; great for families and single living. Your key responsibilities:

  • Manage, lead, and set expectations for the team based on DuPont Core Values.

  • Direct line responsibility for personnel and personnel issues managing a team of 18 people.

  • Ensure operational discipline so that all resources execute in a way that provides both personnel and process safety and quality work.

  • Organizes and manages staffing levels to ensure adequate support for production needs.

  • Leads continuous learning and development efforts of direct reports as well as encourage employee engagement and fosters empowerment and accountability through leader standard work practices.

  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities within the organization and lead some of those efforts.

  • Monitors and makes adjustments to controllable costs for shift (i.e. overtime, operating supplies)

  • Provide input and status updates to Chemours supply chain scheduling processes. Maintain good working relationship with Chemours asset scheduler, planner, and contract administrator.

  • Responsible for communicating to the shop floor and monitoring performance versus daily production, quality, reliability, and delivery goals set by Chemours.

  • Manage maintenance best practices as related to optimization of the area’s reliability and cost improvement systems/goals.

  • Work Management Process (WMP) champion for the area.

  • Responsible for the coordination of all maintenance and contractor activities in the area.

  • Acts as the job representative for all contractor work performed within areas of responsibility.

  • Converts work requests into work orders and assigns the appropriate maintenance planning group.

  • Reviews planned jobs to ensure there is a complete work order package with all permits, authorizations, drawing, job kits, and procedures.

  • Reviews equipment preparation requirements with operations and is accountable to ensure that equipment is ready for maintenance according to the schedule.

  • Confers with operations and maintenance at the beginning of each day to review work from previous shift, identify new emergencies, and adjust the plan as necessary.

  • Provides communication link with all shifts on status of jobs completed, ongoing jobs, work requests written, and scheduling.

  • Facilitates the daily and weekly scheduling meetings and develops the schedule.

  • Management of the backlog and ensure that preventive maintenance (PM) tasks are being scheduled and accomplished by maintenance and operations.

  • Complete field scoping, check for existing task list to support work execution, engage mechanics and technical to support job planning, obtain information for materials and equipment required including lead times, obtain quotes and order materials, identify and print BPF’s &/or P&ID’s, develop or adjust long text within work order based on job to support work execution, and set user status accordingly.

  • Maintain the kitted parts area within the maintenance shops i.e., set-up new job kits, complete required form to re-stock un-used parts from completed job.

  • Facilitate planning and documentation of PSM critical equipment repair including notification of as found non-conformances.

  • Support continuous improvement of bill of materials set-up for equipment in SAP including identification of safety stock adjustments that are needed.

  • Support continuous improvement of job task list library and bills of materials to improve job planning.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years manufacturing experience in operations or maintenance roles or Bachelor of Science in engineering related program.

  • Must be computer literate and have proficient MS Office computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact effectively with all levels of the organization in verbal, written, and presentation formats.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence management to achieved desired results.

  • Working knowledge and experience operating and maintaining process equipment.

  • Excellent problem solving and analysis skills.

  • Able to adjust to changing conditions, prioritize, and manage work processes and workforce flexibility.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in people leadership role

  • Prior experience in maintenance planner or coordinator role

  • Process Safety Management (High Hazard Process) experience

  • Green belt certification
