The Kapton® film manufacturing business is seeking a Senior Continuous Improvement Engineer to join our Circleville, Ohio team. The role provides technical expertise and strategic direction to improve our competitive advantage for the manufacturing of Kapton® Films.
The Senior Continuous Improvement (CI) Engineer is recognized as a leader and expert in this technology and leads teams to upgrade processes and products that may range from incremental improvements to major technology changes. The primary focus is on driving significant growth and improvement for Kapton® and to develop a deep understanding of Kapton(R) manufacturing technology.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Leading teams across sites to implement sustainable solutions to complex Casting related challenges.
Develop a comprehensive understanding of the Kapton(R) process technology and identify necessary upgrades to improve the training, on-boarding, and expertise development of engineers supporting these assets.
Identifies and works with technical personnel to develop best practices for process(es)
Enables and assists in the training of operators, mechanics, and other technical team members to convey the “why” of the fundamentals.
Drives product by process through development and documentation of manufacturing standard process.
Design process improvements (yield, quality, uptime, capacity release)
Implement large programs and/or process improvements.
Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex issues at various manufacturing locations.
Drive/lead Lean Manufacturing process.
Participate in the Product Commercialization Framework programs to scale-up of new products and drive manufacturing readiness.
Responsible to ensure adequate basic data is created for CapEx projects and provides resourcing support (e.g., development and/or Plans for Commissioning, Decommissioning, Start-Up and Shut Down)
Potential to lead a PSM Technology Element (Process Technology, PHA, Management of Change-Technology, PSSR)
Responsible for the qualification of new equipment and technologies
Networks and leverages the broader organization (LAS, Leveraged Eng, R&D, Marketing, etc.)
Qualifications:
Technical Degree (BS, MS) in Engineering; Chemical or Mechanical
10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Industrial plant experience working with process safety management processes/systems.
Demonstrated ability to apply technical knowledge to diagnose, troubleshoot, solve, or help others solve equipment and/or process issues.
Demonstrated knowledge of key process safety management elements such as Process Hazards Analysis, Process Technology, Management of Change-Technology, RAGAGEP among others
Demonstrated ability to teach, coach, mentor, develop others, and work in a team-based environment.
Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize and manage multiple, complex, time-sensitive projects.
Demonstrated skill in team building and achieving results through influence and negotiation.
Good interpersonal and communication skills; must work well in both self-managed and team environment.
Ability to access and network with appropriate site and corporate teams to gain or share knowledge.
