Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) is looking for you to join our team as a Principal Research Scientist based out of Clearfield, UT.
What You'll get to Do:
You will be part of a team that is working on advanced composite technologies. In this position you will be part of our research and development (R&D) efforts for ceramic matrix composite (CMC) fabrication methods, CMC materials and processes, design and analysis, and test methods either for oxide or non-oxide based CMC components and structures outside of a production environment. Evaluation of matrix and/or fiber properties and capabilities. Any experience with CMC materials, processes, testing, and fabrication is preferred. Basic understanding of polymer matrix composite (PMC) materials and processes is also preferred and any understanding of automation methods for fabrication such as automated fiber placement, prepreg processes, filament winding, and similar methods.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, master's degree in science or engineering with minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or PhD in science or engineering
Understanding of ceramic materials and processes
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Understanding of ceramic matrix composites, fabrication, testing, and evaluation
Use of CAD software, design and analysis
Manufacturing and/or process engineering experience
