Job Description:
Lab Technician I - Cleveland, TN
Has been formally trained by Lab Tech II member to perform analyses independently
Knowledge of product matrices and intended use, if applicable
Knowledge of process control limits
Knowledge of product specifications
Able to perform all applicable analytical tests for in-process and finished product in a precise and timely manner as outlined in the divisional analytical procedures
Able to initialize, start instruments and prepare samples, as needed, for the equipment analysis
Able to prepare calibration standards and calibrate all instrumentation for applicable analyses
Able to perform lab verification tasks per designated schedule and frequency
Able to utilize the Total Lab Client software and record data for corresponding analysis in a timely manner
Has read the applicable SDS and understands the safety hazards present for the analyses performed
Follow established SOPs accurately and efficiently.
Able to communicate with other departments, as necessary, in person, radio, email and phone.
Has successfully passed the lab training exams, where applicable
Is responsible to follow lab master sanitation schedule and maintain cleanliness of the laboratory
Knowledge of the actions taken towards deviations and out of specification products
Is responsible to communicate OOS products to QC/QFS Manager/Lab Tech II and production management
Able to identify inconsistencies in data and report to Lab Tech II in a timely manner.
Able to work independent and act as a team player across all departments
Notify the Lab Tech II or his/her designee of any lab supplies & chemicals needs
Demonstrates compliance to quality, safety, and code of conduct policies
Demonstrates compliance to ADM records retention policy of lab records
Able to perform other responsibilities, as needed/directed by manager.
Demonstrates compliance to the local specific attendance policy
Must be able to perform all tasks identified in all Lab Training/Daily Laboratory Duties
Must comply with all Laboratory Rules
