JOB SUMMARY

The Night Auditor performs specific night audit procedures related to accounting and shift balancing which, prepare the business day to close and then open business for the next day.

Essential Duties

  1. Verify all account postings and guest billing for the day, and adjust as needed to balance daily transactions.

  2. Run the actual night audit process on the property management system.

  3. Prepare the night audit packet.

  4. Balance and transmit credit cards.

  5. Print and organize reports.

  6. Greets and welcomes guests.

  7. Assigns rooms and keys.

  8. Maintains room availability.

  9. Collects and distributes messages for guests.

  10. Provide security for guests and the property by controlling room keys, certifying cash banks, making safe drops, preparing cash reports, following credit card guidelines, and reporting suspicious activity by guests or others.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position acts as Manager on Duty for the overnight shift.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment, public and non-public spaces including guest rooms. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. These work areas may occasionally be noisy.

The position requires manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.
