What We’re Doing

Our Team, the Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) Regional team, is constantly engineering, developing and integrating new capabilities for the U.S. Missile Defense System. protecting both the United States and its allies. This large, fast paced team, is composed of many small agile teams working together dynamic environment with a common mission to develop and deploy leading-edge missile defense technologies.

The Work

The C2BMC-Regional Application Agile Release Train is seeking a Chief Product Owner that will thrive in a fast paced team environment in the design, development, and testing of the C2BMC application software. Primary responsibilities for this position are:

• Collaborate and coordinate priorities with the 7 application Product Owners that make up C2BMC Regional Applications

• Setting a strategic vision and plan for the entire Regional Apps product, across all baselines

• Coordinate and prioritize requests from multiple product teams, solution chiefs, and customers across different products

• Plan and lead modernization and continuous improvement opportunities for application products and services

• Manage a single, wholistic, prioritized backlog to be delivered by all of the application product teams

• Be accountable for the efficient delivery of product increments according to the PI Plan

• Support CI/CD software testing, infrastructure, and resolution of issues from multiple baselines

• Assist with proposal efforts for new capabilities, including review and breakdown of new work for the product teams

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 14 years or more of professional experience; or 12 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. (4) years experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

• Must currently hold an ACTIVE DoD Final Secret clearance (or higher) to be considered for this position

• Experience leading and managing software development, working as a Product Owner, or developing software/systems.

• Experience using tools and techniques for project planning, and leading complete SDLC efforts.

• Familiar with all aspects of software development, test, and maintenance throughout the life cycle of a software product.

• Strong communication skills, able to tailor the message to different audiences, including customers

Desired Skills:

• Working knowledge of Ballistic Missile Defense concepts, Battle Management and Command and Control (BM/C2) systems, defense communications systems, and the US Ballistic Missile Defense System

• Software Development/Testing experience, especially Java based development on Linux/Unix platforms

• Experience in management of Product portfolios

• Experience working as a Product Owner in Agile software delivery teams

• Proficiency in producing, organizing, and sharing knowledge articles, and tracking work items using Atlassian Confluence, Jira

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington or Washington DC is $123,500 - $236,800. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
